That is what I was thinking Wingman. It appears the Eagles really have their heads together and must be playing some extremely good basketball at this point. Unfortunately I was not at the game so I cant comment on any details that occured.

It looks like Brown with another STRONG game (31 points) and Crabtree stepping up with 14. I was at a middle school game last night and unable to attend, however, McQuery with only 1 three pointer? How many did he shoot? Did they go box and one to shut him down? Any game recaps?

 

Any updates on Montgomery? It seems when he was in the lineup they had a little bit more of a balanced attack. Of course, it could just be this one game. It looks like they are 2-2 since his injury. Big district game against Cooper on Friday. I believe Boone won earlier in the year by 14 over Cooper in the LIT with Montgomery, let's hope they can do the same without him Friday.

Tough loss for Boone. I think it was noted at the start of the season that although Boone was very big, they would not have a lot of depth as in the past. Montgomery getting hurt did not help things. Looks like Brown and Crabtree did their parts offensively. Did Scott's guards do most of the damage then?

Yes, the top three Sr. Guards each had about 20, 3 point shots were hugh once again for Scott... On to Pendleton County Friday (weather permitting). Go Eagles!

Scott had no answer for Brown. He just dominated on the inside on the offensive side of the ball. Crabtree was also a force in the game. Scott was able to limit McQuearys looks.

 

Flip side was Boone County gave up a lot of open looks playing that extended 2/3 zone. When they extend that zone there are a lot of gaps for guards to penetrate and kick it out to shooters.

Looks like guard play was the key difference in this one and Scott had the better players at that position. Smith is the real deal I keep hearing and reading.

Brown was a monster inside for Boone, but Scott guard play was just a little to much for the rebels. Coach Carr has a well rounded team that can hurt you in many ways.

Most likely, Boone feels they have a matchup problem on defense with McQueary. Downs can play D on anyone. Stanley or Pitts would hold their own. But McQueary is not a man to man defender against anyone with quickness. This is where losing Montgomery really hurts. With Travis, they could go man against anyone and feel good about it. Now there are some match up issues.

 

I wasn't at the game so I don't know what zone Boone played. But with their current personnel, I think Boone's best defense would be a 1-3-1. Put length on the wings, Brown in the middle, one guard up top (Downs probably the best choice) and the other running the baseline.
