Good time for a shout out to those that volunteer their time to take photos of the players to capture these achievements. Guys like Panda, Allen R, Dale Dawn, Wayne Litmer and many I have missed. When my boys played, we were blessed to have Tim Cooper take a lot of photos and when Jr. Eclipsed the 1,000 point mark, one of Panda's co workers was also there to take some great shots and that game was filmed by Joe Zinc and he put together a wonderful you tube video capturing the moment. #Glorydays

So you define talent as being able to dunk and shoot? Now that I know your definition I can further comment. Newport was way more talented! They dunked 50 times prior to the game (including a few under 15 minutes prior to the start which the zebras turned deaf ear to). It appears Newport (by your definition) is not even a mediocre team because they don't seem to be able to run sets?? Wow, take it easy on Newport, they are way better than mediocre. They are a really good team. Running and gunning after using their athleticism to get all of those steals from Brossart didn't turn into a large margin of victory for them did it? Was Newport quick, fast and long? You bet they were. If the teams were to meet later in the year, who knows what the outcome would be, we will never know, but coach Code will be making the most of those slow, short armed kids he is burdened with. :sssh:

Describe talent. Is it the ability to dunk and shoot the ball or is it executing offensive sets and playing as a unit? No doubt in my mind that most of Newport's players were faster and could jump higher than the kids from Brossart, but if executing as a unit, making on the court decisions to take high % shots play into the definition of talented basketball players it is a little harder to determine who was more talented.

I don’t believe Burries has committed to any school. But if it works out with CBU he could also ride with Adien Ruthatz of Cov Cath who already committed.

There was contact for sure but the shooter leaned into the defense. Hard call to make and Henry Drees, who was in position, is not the official that would make the call. He swallowed the whistle as he did most of the evening. Tough game to officiate but the refs did a good job. Lots of contact throughout the game, but very evenly called.

Heard there will several BGP'ers in attendance this evening including me.

Love hearing Ruthsatz starting off strong. Happened to see a video of the 5'8" kid dunking one left handed. Very athletic player.

I was rather impressed with the Lady Stangs tonight. Bundy has the team looking good.. They shared the ball and ran the court very well. Love the intensity of the Lady Bears. Best wishes to Coach Elsbernd this year.

I was rerouted thru Corbin yesterday on the way home. The town is sort of ate up with the Redhounds. Felt like I went back in time to watch the Ampipe Bulldogs play in "All the right moves".
