  1. Not that I am trying to impersonate uk#1, but newcath doesn't have the horses in the barn to compete with SK this year, they (newcath) are hard nosed kids, but this year won't be competitive against SK, IMO.
  2. Could not agree more, as the old saying goes, "To be the man, you have to beat the man", in this case, Mayfield is the "man" in single A. They might struggle a little more than they are used to, but by the end of the season I am sure they will be primed to make another title run.
  3. That and the big kid who transfered from Holmes, Brandon Johnson I beleive, he is a load, unblockable at times. Newport and Newcath should be one whale of a game!
  4. You are a bette man than I..... As for AAU refs making calls, was at a tournament a couple of years back and their was a kid literally punching a kid in the back as he was trying to gain offensive position. I'm not talking about a shove, but a clenched fist punch, and he did it about 4 times, when the kid being punched finally truned and shoved the player who was doing the punching, he was ejected.....it was an absolute joke. The bad thing is that the ref on the baseline was within 5' of where the action was taking place and did nothing. They are to concerned with getting the games over and staying on schedule IMO.
  5. Not exactly sure what they have to do to improve over last year, as they did make it to the state finals. I do know that they will be well coached and have tough, hard nosed kids on their roster as they always do. I always look forward to seeing NewCath play.....they are well disciplined and aggresive, just like a good football team should be.
  6. Now that is funny
  7. Kyle is a great kid, hopefully SK will find a way to utilize his many talents
  8. fan4nascar replied to a post in a topic in KY Baseball (High School)
Michigan would be his first choice
  9. Refreshing to hear you wouldn't allow your son a say in the matter, also what exactly do you mean by that group? Is the BW football team that bad in your opinion?
  10. Not a chance
  11. Simple answer, yes
  12. Were Brock and Huff both sick? Hard to imagine a team only able to put up 21 points in a game.
  13. The Colonels middle school program has been an outstanding feeder for CovCath, they have well over 100 kids involved in the program and have had great success. BW started their MS program 3 years ago in response to the Colonel program as well as the decline in the Spartan senior numbers. The first year BW middle school team took their lumps, but have won the small school division championship the past 2 years. IMO BW made the right move and will cultivate their own talent and will continue to have succes.
  14. Congrats to the young man, look for him to do great things at GVS
  15. NewCath has a heck of a team, first time I have had the chance to see them play this year. They are big, disciplined, play great defense, and share the heck out of the ball. Although I was rooting for BW it was a pleasure to see a team that good. Good luck the rest of the way.
  16. Got to see the young man play a few times in his career, he is / was an outstanding QB, the honor is well desrved.
  17. Interesting to say the least, I understand it is tabbed best of the Bluegrass, but would like to see a little more love for the big uglies down in the trenches. Although all of these QB's and RB's are super talented, their stats most certinley would not have been as impressive had they not had the horses up front. Just my opinion.
  18. Pretty sure he was just coming back from the ankle injury he suffered in the loss to Frankfort which ended the football season. Wasn't able to make the game, but heard that he showed no ill effects of the ankle sprain. Should give BW another scoring option as teams are trying to smother Huff and Brock.
  19. I just heard that Grand Valley State has been pursuing Kuntz hard, good for that young man, his Jr and Sr years were outstanding and he certinley can play at the next level.
  20. I forgot just how much energy the Brossart players bring to the defensive side of the court, they are relentless, coach Code does a great job with those young men.
  21. Thanks TAC, wasn't sure, was that under Shumate? They did have some pretty good teams then.
  22. When is the last time Beechwood won 4 games in a row? They are not the most talented bunch, but Goetz has them playing hard and they are starting to believe IMO. They aren't a threat to win 20 games, but they are fun to watch and they might just sneak up on a team or two. Good job Tigers, keep working hard and good things will happen.
