It's not like the Dunbar Coaches,Players, and Parents are going to egg them when they walk in or something.

The ice is thawing and in my opinion you could schedule Lexington Catholic if you go through enough hoops. Educated guess on that one. I don't know if playing MBA is a double standard. In Lexington they want kids that go to the middle schools to end up at their intended public high schools. I don't think MBA has kids that went to Leestown Middle School. If their is a true double standard it's that you can play LCA in basketball or be in their tournament but their is an up roar over playing basketball or football with Lexington Catholic. LCA has kids that live in FCPS districts like Lexington Catholic does. This is my point that the boycott isn't that black and white anymore and if you really wanted to press the issue I personally think you could get the game made but that's my opinion. Let's not forget that both parties have to agree to this game. I don't like the idea that it's 100% that Lexington Catholic would schedule FCPS teams. I don't know why they wouldn't but scheduling takes more than one team to do it.

It's amazing how Lexington Catholic got in this thread. Funny how they were never mentioned by me since this thread is about Dunbar and Montgomery Bell.

FCPS and Lexington Cathoic will play very soon they have all ready in girl sports and that is a fact. Boys basketball plays LCA. I'm in Lexington very often so my opinion holds a little bit of water.

Dunbar can play anone they want to Trinity, St. X MBA whoever. Lexington Catholic was boycotted but now that boycott is not as black and white as it once was. Their have been games such as girls soccer who have scheduled Lexington Catholic in a regular season game and it's hard to say girls can play Lexington Cathoic in their sports but boys can't. It's a fuzzy issue. It's never happend but it will happen pretty soon. Lexington Christian played Dunbar and Tates Creek in boys basketball this year so it isn't a private school boycott. It was a Lexington Catholic boycott and that's not set in stone now.

The game was made just a few days ago. It should be fun.

Dunbar will open their season against Montgomery Bell Academy on Friday August 18th at Dunbar in Lexington. This should be a great game to open the 2006 football season.

I agree with this person I also heard he did not get the job. I heard from a pretty good source that Cornell Burbage was going to get it.

I will give Harrison some credit. They had a rough year with injury's. They had a lot of talent and their quarterback went down late in the year with season ending injury. Harrison County had Lexington Catholic the 3A state champions on the ropes this year and almost beat Covington Catholic without their starting quarterback who was the heart of that team. I'm not saying Harrison County would have won the state title but it would have been fun to see what Harrison could have done at full strength in the playoffs.

Trinity's players should get a lot of credit they are the state champions. They reached the top. But for Henry Clay and most people will admit this if they saw Henry Clay. In Kentucky you will not have a team with anymore talent than that. So if your idea to win a state championship for Henry Clay is to get more talented players, I hate to say but it is never going to happen.

What are you talking about??? I am giving Burke a compliment. He should be Mr. Football and Burke chose not to go to UK and the stupid voters will only vote for someone who goes to Louisville or UK. He's going to NC State and in my opinion that's why he isn't Mr. Football. I can't even give a guy a compliment without getting bashed. There is no doubt Justin Burke is the best player in Kentucky. I never said Henry Clay was the best team in the state. I said they have the most talent. If St. X's coaching staff or Trinity's staff coached Henry Clay they would have a state title by now. Their is no homer in that at all it's the truth. Sam Simpson is the reason they were not playing this week and anyone who went to the Trinity game will tell you that. Sam Simpson lost that game as bad as a coach can lose a game. I was also giving St. X and Trinity's coaching staff's a lot of credit for winning with less talent. You might want to re read what I said before you bash me next time on the public forum.

After seeing the state games their was no one their as talented as Henry Clay. I like Victor Anderson but Rod Johnson is a much better runningback than Victor Anderson. If Rod Johnson played for St. X I would almost put money on it that he would be Mr. Football(unless Johnson goes to N.C. State instead of Kentucky of course then Mr. Football is thrown out. )

Congrats goes out to Trinity and their defensive line. I called them out this past week thinking that they would not be able to slow St. X's rushing attack down and I will not have a problem saying I was wrong because I was. Trinity's defensive line proved a lot to me in this game and Trinity earned their state title. Congrats on your 05 State Championship and I look forward to seeing if someone can knock off the Champs in 06? :thumb:

I didn't mean Trinity's DB was short I was talking about #26 Jeter for Henry Clay was short. Clearly Trinity's DB wasn't it looked like Simpson throgh it right to him. Henry Clay ran up and down the field on that drive and Sam Simpson through a fade to the shortest player on the field and it was picked off from about Trinity's 25 yard line. Bad Call. No knock on Trinity, the DB made the play but a horribe play call handed them that turnover. Trinity did stop Rod Johnson on 4th and short but lets not be crazy here Sam Simpson's play calls strike again. They ran a slow developing run to Johnson with no lead blocker out of shotgun. Someone tell me if you only need one yard why do hand your best runningback the ball 5 yards in the backfield on 4th down. I think that is pretty stupid to say the least. I have a feeling St. X would not be in Shotgun on 4th and short.

Trinity's defensive line suprised me against Henry Clay in not being as physical as they have had in years past. Henry Clay could run the ball but chose not to with bad play calling like the fade thrown in the end zone to Jeter that got picked off who might have been the shortest kid on the field. St. X's offensive line will give Trinity a lot of problems.

Maybe I just don't get it. But the Chain Markers are tied with a Chain. If you move one side it doesn't matter. You still have the other side in place. You can't move the sticks more than ten yards because they would all ready be tight. You can move one side to the shorter side but then the chain is not tight. The ref should be able to see that the chain looks like an S. Am I missing something here?

I don't know if Coach Simpson was the one who had the idea to jump on the T or not and I think he had something to do with it but that's just a hunch. But he surely could have stopped it and he did nothing. Bottom line while Henry Clay was jumping on the T Trinity went in to a team huddle and looked like they had their pre game prayer. This was pretty much how the game was played as well. One side was well coached and the other looked like a bunch of kids playing in the back yard trying to out athlete everyone. I really feel sorry for Henry Clay's kids because what your coaches are letting you get away with is actually hurting you in the long run and maybe you will see that now.

I was their tonight and Sam Simpson lost this game for his players in every since of the game. From the dancing on the T to throwing a fade to #26 in the endzone that was picked off by Trinity. Rod Johnson ran the ball well but it was too bad Coach Simpson thought throwing the ball would be better. The better coached team won tonight and the coaching battle was a blowout for Trinity. I feel sorry for some of the Henry Clay players that their coaching staff was not up to par in a game this big. Hats off to Trinity you were the better team tonight and you deserve to be in the State Championship game.

I agree Trinity can pass the ball but should they. Henry Clay is a better offensive team than Trinity as a whole. Trinity has a better defense. You shouldn't try to outscore a offensive minded team. If this game gets into high scoring Henry Clay will win the game. If Trinity slows the tempo down and keeps it close Sam Simpson will go back with his boy instead of Rod Johnson and that will help Trinity. Henry Clay wants to get away from you early. Henry Clay can best be described as a heavyweight fighter that wants to knock you out in the first round. Trying to fight their style is not what I would advise. I'm not saying you can't win throwing the ball. But Henry Clay would love a shootout.

Lafayatte through all over Henry Clay on that pitt hole over at Lafayatte which slowed Henry Clay down. This game will be on turf and Henry Clay has been suspect against the run. If you want to throw the ball you may complete it or Rod Johnson or #55 may be laying on your quarterback. It's a risk.

I don't know a lot about Trinity this year but can they run the ball enough to win. Throwing the ball on Henry Clay is not the best of ideas because you are trying to out score them instead of controlling the clock. St. X would give Henry Clay fits but I don't know about a shotgun approach against Henry Clay. That's kind of playing into Henry Clay's hands.

Rod Johnson is the best runningback to come out of Lexington since Eric Shelton. Salin Simpson is a pretty good quarterback as well. Their big noseguard is banged up right now he was limping all over the field against Dunbar and didn't play but maybe 50% of the game. Henry Clay is a very good football team.

I've got no problem with you disagreeing with me. I never said we have to now kick kids off the team just a dress limit. The KHSAA has no roster limits as of right now. Any body can still play football practice play JV or Freshman games and can stand on the sideline if they want but they should not be in uniform on Friday Night if they go over the dress limit. If the KHSAA has those limits for other sports it's not fair for one kid to have to sit on the sideline in his sport while another can dress. It should be equal in all sports. No body seems to care if little peter doesn't make the basketball team but it's for the kids when it comes to football. Soccer has a limit and they play on a bigger field than football. I like my idea because I think it saves the private schools from being kicked out of the state. In the six class idea Jim Mckee is still in the same class as Trinity and St. X and he has been the leader of getting rid of them. Do you really think this will stop him and others? If nothing is done the private schools will be gone very soon.

The tournament dress limit for soccer is 24. I can not find a ruling for regular season play but if you go to the KHSAA web site and go under the tournament rules and go under the section of Contestants you will find the player limit rules. Basketball is 15, Baseball is 21, Cross Country can enter 10 but only use 7 at a meet. and it is 21 in Girls Fast Pitch Softball. The rules says you can put as many names as you want on the team roster but these are the maximum numbers you can have dressed for the event. Football says that you can have an unlimited amount. I got this from the rulebook under tournament play for these sports anyone is more than free to look at them and if you see something different let me know. But this is what the rulebook says. This seems weird to me that all of these sports have dress limits for tournament play but football does not.
