Shelby upsets South in the first round of the region.

Here is my two cents. I think Simon was probably the runner-up no one wanted, especially on their home court. However, Owen could be a difficult match-up with their guard play. Speaking of runner-ups, don't sleep on Shelby. They are getting better and better. Remember they played South in a close one earlier in the season Likewise, Carroll an WV will be an interesting match-up. It was a very close game before and Medford will have them ready. Anderson/Oldham could be a track meet. The interesting thing will be how do the young kids respond to the regional tourney. Coach Kays has done a great job competing with far and away the youngest team in the region. That being said, I think Simon, South, WV and Anderson will advance. But who knows? Anyone could go home in the first round.

I think South will win and it won't be close. They have been up and down. But with the end in sight, you might see the best South Oldham of the year.

I agree. In addition, they will probably not see a weaker team that they don't believe will make it to the region.

I can't wait. Anyone can win at least one game. There is no dominant team, and whoever gets hot will be cutting down the nets.

No. It is not the complete list. It's just the kids i could remember off the top of my head.

To your point, North Oldham and Anderson only played six games in Region. Of those, four were in the district.

My mistake. I thought she was a senior. No doubt she is a nice player.

Wainscott received the award most likely because she was the best senior. If it's close, usually people tend to go with the seniors. Not saying she was not deserving, but there isn't a lot of difference between the top 5-6 players.

There is no "first team" all-region. There is only an all-region team.

Agreed. The only thing I would add is that I think there are four teams that stand out, instead of three. South Oldham is possibly the most dangerous team in the 8th once the tournament begins. Their length/speed make them a very tough out. However, I think any of the 8 teams there are very capable of winning a game. When is the last time you could say that?!

Clark Co. has a really nice team. They will be a force in the 10th region tourney.
