I went Sunday, for the first time and enjoyed the entire experience. Yes, the prices are higher; yes, there is a little less atmosphere than a packed high school gym. Yes, the crowd though larger seems small in large building. Yes, the student ticket price needs to be address in the future. Many of these issues can be said of the Sweet 16 (especially if Kentucky is playing at the same time) As a long time Sweet 16 attendee the 9th\10th tournament fells more like a mini state tournament than a big game in a high school gym. This is a good thing. This makes the tournament unique and makes it a bigger event. In the end, I believe attendance will be greater than in the high school gyms. I attend many high school games each year and have rarely attended the semi s or the finals due to the long lines and packed buildings, I’m sure there are others like me. As the bugs get worked out of the system on this event it is something I hope will continue for a long time.

I agree, kids should play up as far as they can compete. Those held back from the beginnning or at a young age are no problem at all. They were most likely held for reasons other than athletic ability. In most of these cases it is rarly known who is a "hold back" Those held back in middle school to be dominant at that age are the real issue. At 12-13-14-15, 1 year make a big difference (put a good eight grader in a 7th grade league it is huge). As the kids age 1 year makes less and less difference. This philosophy in these cases is to play down to achieve dominant success. This dominance is usually negated at the upper grades of high school as all the kids mature fully. We all know about the middle school hold back in the area, but, who are the dominant hold back seniors this year in KY? To reference an earlier post very few become D1 players anyway. A lot of college signings happen before the senior year is played, if a player has talent, will be found no matter what age and red shirted at the next level if needed.

Scott has at least 2 8th graders that played freshman last year at 7th graders (one started) both should play this year. On our AABC team, all but the Catholic school kids are playing school ball. Most KY 8th grade AABC teams don't start their season unitl after school baseball is done.

HC had a great student section. St Henry , well ... was all crickets. No students following at all.

BC by 15 only because HC slows the game down. Without Sullivan HC cannot rebound.

They both play the same amount of 9th opponents save Simons requirements to play the Kenton event.

Not sure who from the 9th will move, but currently the Kenton County Public Schools are in 3 regions. Simon Kenton 8th Dixie 9th Scott 10th This is kinda crazy. With the new Boone County School (Cooper) there was some minor movement in within the 9th this season. Not sure who is the next to leave the 9th is but I see it coming.
