Thankfully Title IX has stopped making the girls feel like a warm-up to the main event. I never could understand why the boys always had the second game when maybe the girls had the much better team. Most of the girls games I attend in the 8th region have pretty good attendance on their own

I think that a couple a season are fun, but anymore than that is just too hard on the kids who play both JV and varsity and the coaches.

I agree that she is a good player but I have yet to see that she deserves to be in the top 10.

Carroll Co lost a good player in Girdy. They will miss her esp on defense but they won't miss her as much as some people assume. Coach Mefford will always get the best out of what he's got. He may still need a true post but Curry plays bigger than she is and with some of the other bigs gone (Miller from Trimble, Williams from Owen) it might not be as much of an issue this year. Watch out for Curry and Devine. That said I still don't think they can upset the top 3 but should be in contention for the All A title.

Coach Hicks is an excellent coach. Didn't mean to sound like his success is based on luck.

Most coaches are not as lucky as Coach Hicks. I guess if you have the athletes that he has had a man only policy does work.

I think if they aren't teaching full time and can delegate it is doable. What about an AD who was never a coach? Would this person be qualified?

I can't vote in this poll because I need a both. A good coach will know when he needs to play man or zone based on his team and his opponent. I have seen coaches who would rather lose than go zone and do so. I just don't get it.

I expect that Echo Kemper will be the leading rebounder this year but may not be able to replace Williams' 13-14 rebounds per game.

Most players who don't like to bang aren't usually good rebounders esp if they are only 6' 1". Dustin used to be one of the biggest guys on the floor but it seems that he grew early and now will have to adjust to playing against kids several inches taller esp in the varsity games. I'd say he has the talent to make the adjustment.

Maybe in the 80's, but I still like Cornbread and you could do alot worse than Watkins. Watkins just likes to make sure everyone knows who is in charge. I love the way he blows the whistle and waits that instant for the drama to build and every eye to be on him before he makes the call.
