  1. I can get behind this...personally, I think they'll be very similar to last year with the exception that Cov. Cath won't let them score 26 this year and may score 100. I say this because of what I have always said about Highlands...they're terrible on Defense...Now though, in addition to this, they can't score.
  2. Hard to argue Highlands in the Top 10...they were abysmal last year and don't really return anything that would make you go, "Oh, they're gonna get better!" Amazing to say that, but the truth is, that place is in real trouble for awhile.
  3. Cause BG has really padded the ol' schedule... Non-District in 2016 John Hardn St. X McCracken Owensboro Christian Co. :idunno:
  4. Actually, that should say 6A. None the less, topping that team will be tough. I do agree that Adams + Coach Seabolt's offense has been the perfect match for Greenwood. They have had a tremendous run.
  5. Greenwood went to the Final Four in 4A in 2009 and fought St. X tooth and nail there. X would go on the next week and hammer Trinity for the title.
  6. So, non-Power 5 schools looked at him and didn't offer, but he should have gotten looks from Power 5 schools? So, he went to all the camps where they could look at him up close and they didn't offer but if he had worn a different helmet with a better school's logo, they would have offered. Schools offer kids, not who they played for.
  7. Gotta find a QB. Plain and simple.
  8. FS's front four were studs and made that Defense. You don't lose 3 of those 4 and "be as good or better". Don't believe me? Just ask South Warren.
  9. I'm not a big Rogers fan but I think you're vastly overestimating the quality of available coaches out there right now...
  10. Hmmm.... Drawing 90k in a KTRS pension....Two of them you say? Two Superintendents in a family too? Wow.
  11. Why are we not playing these games in a more central location? EKU would be happy to host. It's crazy that Green Bay had to go all the way to Atlanta...
  12. Now the AFC game too! This wouldn't happen if the NFL would do things like they do in Ohio! SMH
  13. This NFC Championship Game is proof of how silly one class in the NFL is! When Championship games turn into routs like this, it's time to look at revamping the playoff system!
  14. George Fant, the starting LT for the Seattle Seahawks and a product of Warren Central High School in BG is a wonderful example of just how important stats and accolades at lower levels are in terms of transitioning to the next level... :ohbrother:
  15. Colleges could care less about All State and/or Mr. Football. Still...this award is gaining tarnish by the day.
  16. This is a sad mishandling of a prestigious award. This award matters. It matters to the kid, to the school, and to the recipient community. This is a shame.
  17. 0-10 Teams ought to take a note from how South Warren built their football program. Senseless to play Varsity in the first year.
  18. I still am just AMAZED that Highlands folks want to "fix the offense" but are OK with the defense. Just. Amazing.
  19. I thought this response would happen which is why I did the comparative analysis of Highlands vs. Trinity and BG during the same time span. Highlands, like T and BG plays with 100+ players on a pretty regular basis. Like Highlands, BG and Trinity play challenging schedules, and like Highlands, they often blow opponents out with the starters. But that's where the similarity ends. Look again at this stat: Number of times giving up 25+ points since 2011: BG: 8 Trinity: 15 Highlands: 35 Three programs that are essentially on the same level in terms of expectations and participation. But Highlands is light years behind the other two in terms of keeping opponents under 25. If the "we pulled our starters" theory were true, it should hold true for BG and Trinity as well. But it doesn't. I have never understood why Highlands fans argue that they're good on defense. The numbers simply do not agree. Highlands has developed an offense problem since Dale left. But since at least 2011, they have had a serious defense problem.
  20. Well, for the past two years, they have been horrendous...that can't be argued. But let's look back at even when they were the big fella on the block... In 2014, when they won it all they gave up: 41, 38, 49, 34, 26, and 42 In 2013, when they finished runners up, they gave up: 44, 26, 25, 30, 69, 35, and 37 In 2012, when they won it all, they were a little better and only gave up: 31, 37, 28, 38, and 28 2011 was a good year for them where they only gave up: 37 and 29...many will argue the 2011 Highlands team was one of the, if not the, best ever. Prior to that, they were a little better though you see them consistently giving up 14-21 a game...many Highlands folks will argue, "People were scoring on our backups, we were way ahead in those games..." But I think the truth really was that Dale had them rocking a rolling on O, and they were just bad on D, but the O covered that up. Now the O isn't rocking and rolling and the D is being exposed for what it is and has been. Compare them since 2011 with two of the other premier programs in KY: BG and Trinity Since 2011, Highlands has won 3 State Championships and had a Runner Up, so they've hardly been chump change...BUT... Since 2011 here is how many times Highlands, BG, and Trinity have given up 25 + points: BG: 8 Trinity: 15 Highlands: 35 Thus my comment on how I find it ironic that they're looking for a new OFFENSIVE coordinator.
  21. I like that Highlands, a traditionally atrocious Defense, is looking for a new OC....
  22. Coach Wallace from BG is on the East staff and will be serving as the OC for that team I believe. Coaching Staff | U.S. Army All-American Bowl
  23. In KY High School football, in 1A - 4A, you are one superstar QB and a coach with 1/2 a bit of sense about how to use him, away from playing for the Final Four at the minimum.
  24. 1. Franklin gains little by playing BG. The gap is too wide. FS has had two runner-up teams in the last 6 years, both of which would have been running clocked by BG in those years...so what does getting running clocked do to help those two teams? Nada. They didn't play BG and made it to the Finals. Playing BG would not have allowed them to win either of those Finals. Much as it pains me to say, FS is doing what is best for FS. 2. When Lacey for SW and Tisdale for BG take the field for next year's game, will there have ever been two higher profile prospects on the same field for a BG-area game?
