Owen is good up front, but their guards can't handle pressure. In the GC game I thought GC ended up beating them because OC couldnt handle pressure. I have seen them numerous times this yer and when the other team can't or don't pressure them OC wins..

Anderson was up 10 at half!!!!! I believe it was a 1 point game at the end of 3. South was up 2 with 2:30 left in the game and Anderson had the ball. I believe that makes it close. But I do agree with you South has a lot more shooters than Anderson.

Like I said earlier. There was no opportunity to take advantage of the 5'10" kid(Eric Shaw). Shaw was pushing the Lex Cath center out of the paint everytime he tried to post up, he was beating him to the spot he was trying to get, he was cutting in the passing lane, he was all over him!!! From the Lexington-Herald: Not only did Shaw score 6 points in the 4th quarter, his defense on 6-foot-8 Peurach was huge. Shelby beat Anderson 32-30 at Shelby in January. I would say that is pretty close and competitive?

Lex Cath's center pretty much had his way with the Davis kid(8th grader). Davis just wasnt big enough physically or experienced enough to handle him. On the other hand when Lafayette inserted Shaw in his place it was a different story. Shaw is only 5'10" but he is built like a brick wall. Looked like to me that the center for Lex Cath didnt like the physical play of Shaw. Shaw was pushing him out of the lane everytime he tried to post up, was bumping and running with him everytime he tried to run off of a screen and was all together on him like paper on a wall. There were several times where Shaw beat the Lex Cath kid to the spot where he was trying to get. Seemed like to me that Shaw really had him frustrated and Lex Cath didnt seem to know how to operate without him being able to get the ball? Great win for Lafayette in a great game to witness!!!

I didnt say I thought South Oldham was favored to win the region. Notice all the questions and question marks? I was simply asking if anyone thought South Oldham was the favorite. I, for one, dont think they are. Anytime you lose by 20+ to a team in your region(let alone the consensus preseason favorite who is having a pretty good season themselves), I find it hard to believe that you can be the favorite. However, if you went by this set of rankings, South Oldham would be a huge favorite considering Shelby and Anderson arent anywhere to be found.

Is South Oldham the favorite to win the 8th region this year? They are ranked 15th in the state and no other team in the 8th region is ranked. South Oldham has to be the favorite over unranked teams like Shelby Co, Anderson Co and North Oldham, right?

Taylor County makes a great hire in Curtis Cotton. He is a great coach and a family man. He will build the Taylor County program on the foundation of character, accountability, and hard work. The way I understand it, the administration wants to be a 3a Boyle County. If they intend to support the program in that manner then I feel like Coach Cotton will no doubt succeed. I know he is a proven coach x and o wise and he knows what it takes to succeed on the highest levels (shown by his 3 trips to the state finals). He will build the program in a step by step approach and will raise the level of expectations. Coach Cotton will be an assest to the football program, the school, and the community.
