Good question Painter, yes Hackworth plays defensive back. And to be honest I thought he did carry it a few times against Woodford but I could be wrong, that game was out of hand pretty fast, he got banged up, the quarterback Dotson was running the ball well etc. Ryan is still playing on a sprained ankle but he practiced yesterday and is good to go against Ashland. He's a great kid and a heck of a player. I'll be interested to see how he does against Ashland's D which I've heard is pretty stout. And for the record I'll have to go on what friends tell me since I won't be able to make this game. The station out of Owingsville actually came in on my truck on the way back from Bourbon to answer an earlier question. I've seen Boyd's J.V. play twice and varsity twice, the rest comes from family and friends in Ashland. I do stand corrected, I have seen Montgomery 3 of 4 games this year. My mistake. I listened to the Woodford game on the radio. Again, if anyone feels that I have "mislead" them, I apologize, I don't think any of us on here are experts, it's just an opinion site.

I've seen all of Montgomery's games, I've seen one of Boyd's,nowhere did I say I had seen Estill or Bath play live. I've listened to them on the radio and have friends who have watched them. Oh and Montgomery's first game was on a Saturday, remember? The senior class at Montgomery had at least 25 on the freshman team, what does the 8th grade have to do with anything???? I was talking about since they reached high school. I'm glad you are so strident in your defense of your team, but this is an opinion site and I am entitled to my opinion, especially when it's based on factual data. I know they lost Groves, Hendrix, and Rash AFTER 8th grade. If you want to support Montgomery say something positive and stop waiting around for me to make one negative comment. I've noticed you never said anything after all of the positive comments I've made about Montgomery or anyone else who comments and watches several teams. Geez.

Agreed, those stats are deceiving. Hackworth is the man for M.C. IMO he doesn't get the ball in his hands enough. Heck I would direct snap it to him on occasion and see if he can make the corner.

I think they actually only have 7 now. Only have 11 Juniors I think. They've had a lot of attrition the past couple of years.

I heard last night that Hackworth is injured and out for this game? Anyone know anything about this or have an update? If this is true Montgomery is really in trouble Friday night.

With all the talk about the transfers Scott County has gotten, I think this has kind of flown under the radar, but Clark should be extremely tough this year. Zollo paired with Stentzel will make for a heck of a one two punch for the next few years at GRC. Definately bad news for the rest of the 10th. Nice to see that Billy Hicks doesn't get every decent transfer that occurs!

This should be one great game. My gut is telling my Woodford by a touchdown since it's at Woodford. Both of these teams are really strong this year. I saw Woodford against Montgomery and they just looked like a machine in that game. On the flip side, Johnson Central has built a heck of a program and it's hard to pick against them.

Is this one at Bath or at Shelby Valley? Home field may determine this one.

I agree, Estill will just run up and down the field in this one. I'm going to say Estill 49 Fleming 14.

Actually their boys 7th and 8th belong to the East Kentucky Middle School Conference and are coached by Tony McKinney who does an excellent job.

I'll say Boyd 21 L.C. 14 but it's a toss-up. Boyd's defense has got to show up or this could be an upset.

I just listened to the game on the radio, didn't see it so you may be right. Just going on what the announcers were saying and how the game went. Also know Bath also has the athletes to take over a game. Was just saying that with all things equal, and I certainly think Bath has equal talent to Williamsburg, then it comes down to coaching and breaks and maybe they just didn't get the breaks. Just my opinion.

You're thinking of Caleb Curtis who was a heck of an athlete. He graduated. Hackworth plays running back and sometimes they'll line him up in the slot or even out wide. Anything to get his hands on the ball. He's a great kid and has speed to burn. He ran down the Williams kid from Clark County several times from behind when Montgomery played them earlier in the year.

Bourbon just didn't have the horses to run with Montgomery, much like the previous week against Estill. Bourbon is better but still has a ways to go before they can consistently play with good teams (Estill) or bigger schools like Montgomery.

I've seen Montgomery play all 4 times this year and haven't seen Ashland play. I can tell you that Montgomery plays best when they run the ball. They don't have much of a passing game and their quarterback is at his best when he's running it. Montgomery has a couple of kids with some speed and their defense kind of runs hot and cold. Montgomery would have been right with Ashland or possibly better but they've had some kids quit during the past couple years that would have been Juniors and Seniors on this team. The Hackworth kid for Montgomery is as good and quick as any kid Ashland will see this year. If he has a big game, Ashland is in for a dogfight.

I'm beginning to think Bath just isn't making the adjustments at halftime of these games. That falls back on the coaches. Bath definately has more talent than they are displaying right now.

I'm gonna say Ashland 28 Montgomery 14. Both teams really played a lot better than they have up until last night. I was shocked with the Ashland score, figured Montgomery would beat Bourbon but didn't think it would be a blowout. This should be a good game and could end up determining the 4th team out of this district to make the playoffs since Bryan Station, Woodford, and Johnson Central seem to be a notch or two above these two.

If you guys look at the prediction posts I predicted this game to be close. Didn't know my 'Neers would play them that close but Estill is a team on the rise.

Euton is a very good high school player but we'd all be kidding ourselves if we didn't admit his rankings are up due to committing to UK. Jackson is the better player out of the two.
