I was listening to the radio today (K-Love) Christian music station. They did a story on Lakeside Christian Academy in Morehead KY. In the story they said their girls varsity basketball team won a state championship?

 

The schools administrator Tammy Mckinney said the school has only been in existence since 2005. I can't even find where they have a basketball team. can somebody give me some information?

They won a Christian state tournament or something like that, if I'm not mistaking.

Their 7th & 8th grade teams are in the Ohio River Valley Conference.

 

I can't remember exactly, but wasn't there some connection to Rowan County Christian School?:confused:

They are two separate entities now. There are actually 3 Christian Academies in Rowan - Lakeside, RCCA, and Farmer's Christian.

Thanks for the information. I hadn't heard of Farmer's Christian. What range of grades do each encompass?

I don't know alot of the details. I think Lakeside may go up into high school, RCCA up to the middle school and I don't know anything about Farmer's other than passing the building.

Actually their boys 7th and 8th belong to the East Kentucky Middle School Conference and are coached by Tony McKinney who does an excellent job.
