I am not saying there aren't any other good teams but I would feel safe in saying we are definitely a tier above them. Doesn't mean they couldn't beat either one of us but I wouldn't think they are as good as Ashland, Greenup or West Portsmouth (all 3 wins) or Russell (Oct 28th).

This game only decides who hosts the rematch in the playoffs. Sorry to make other teams in our Region mad but this is just a fact.

If AK Steel doesn't re-open the Fairview school system will continue to have a $40,000 per month shortfall. I am hearing that may lead to a school closure and the kids being sent to Boyd County High School.

Here is the crazy thing; we ran a basic offense and put up 39 points. Our defense allowed 2 yards rushing and 116 yards passing, (over 100 on 2 plays). I think because it was a practice field like atmosphere on the field and from the stands, it's easy to say we didn't play well. I will agree with an earlier post, we looked slow tonight. I have thought we played a lot faster this year until last night. Maybe that was from the lack of adrenaline and lackluster crowd noise..... who knows???

^i know, I spoke out of both sides of my mouth. It was just a weird atmosphere.

We played poorly. It was like we were at practice. We played very vanilla and basic things. Overall, very proud of our effort. Got to play better next week.

Just that. We can't just assume victory. Fairview showed us that last year on Senior night at home. 1 of 2 most embarrassing losses I have been part of at Raceland in my 11 years as their sideline doc.

I thought the refs were exceptional tonight. I can't recall one call they missed.

I believe that 10/14 will make it 720 days since our last District win, minus the 2 District opponent wins during the 2014 playoffs.

Raceland travels to Westwood for their first District game of the year. Fairview took a loss last night at #1 Paintsville to begin District play 0-1. It has been a long time since Raceland won a District game. Any thoughts or opinions on this one?

I was there last night. 3 hours I can't get back and a sight I can't unsee. Bad football.
