I was walking out so I didn't see it, but heard the Greenup County fans booing and yelling "get them off our field!" Given how even and hard nosed the first half was, I imagine some of the GC players were frustrated with how the second half went.

Some stats from the game, which in my opinion is the most complete game Ashland has played thus far. This offense may be the most balanced offense I have ever seen for the traditionally run heavy Tomcats.

Ashland Rushing: 30 rushes for 191 yards (Ratliff 15-84) (Roberts 8-74) (Colburn 7-35)

Ashland Passing: 18-27-0 for a single game school record of 322 yards (Ratliff 17-26 295 yards) (Roberts 1-1 27 yards)

Greenup Rushing: 27 rushes for 85 yards (Wright 4-43) (Warnock 12-24) (Jackson 10-26) (Halstead 1-2)

Greenup Passing: 17-37-3 for 223 yards (Sammons 11-24-2 for 98 yards) (Hunt 5-12-1 for 60 yards) (Wright 1-1 for 65 yards)

Ashland's 513 yards of total offense was pretty impressive against an otherwise very solid Greenup County defense. Kudo's to the coaching staff on the play calling. By keeping GC's defense guessing they were gassed in the second half, which allowed Ashland to rely on their playmaker. Tate Dowdy also had a huge game with 156 yards on 8 catches.

Congrats to the Tomcats on the win. I hope that the GC fan base / boosters don't start getting down on coach S. Grizzle. I honestly believe that he will continue to do a good job of building that program.
