  1. I am pretty sure, and all three played great in the district tournament
  2. Congratulations to both teams on advancing to the 9th Region Tournament. Great job Coach Sanders and the Bellevue Tigers on being champions of the 36th District!
  3. Who takes home the 36th District Championship?
  4. Yes. He came in with 2 outs. I'm not sure if the bases were cleared or if it was after Buckler got the double. However, he did give up the hits to Huff and Piper.
  5. What a great game down in Bellevue Vets today as the Bellevue Tigers advance to the 36th District Championship. Bellevue was leading 4-3 in the top of the 7th when Highlands was able to score 2 runs to take the lead 5-4. With 2 outs in the bottom of the 7th, Ricky Buckler hit a double. This was followed by an infield base hit by Dylan Huff. Alex Hegge was then intentionally walked. Up came Tony Piper to bat, who cracked a line drive to center field to bring home 2 runs and the victory. Great game by both sides. Congrats Bellevue!
  6. I think you hit the nail on the head with this statement. For Bellevue, it all comes down to defense IMO. If they have good defense behind whoever pitches, then it could be an exciting one at the Vets...
  7. Bellevue and Highlands play today for a trip to the championship where Newport awaits the winner. Who are you all taking in this one?
  8. The new coach will be here by the end of the day to meet and greet the new players and faculty.
  9. BTW...I heard the DUDEABIDES will have completed his scientific study of the sea lions in Antartica and should return by the start of football season. His motivation will definitely help the Tigers this season.
  10. In the wake of this tragedy does anyone know of Ludlow will still be coaching the All-Star game?
  11. From the Bellevue football family our thoughts and prayers go out to the Ludlow community. This is a very tragic loss for the Panthers. Jordan was a great competitor and a great coach. Sorry for your loss!
  12. As a former Dayton player too (mid '90's), I thought Ridder was a great coach and motivationl guy. Which game did he speak at? Did his talk help?
  13. Pelgen is a great candidate. I hope he beats out Rod Dupree
  14. Chad is a quality young man, I agree with that completely. However, what about Nick Wilson. He is also a product of the program and has been in the system working closely with Coach Eckstein for the last 5 years. If any young coach should be hired, I think it would be Wilson. Also, from following the team myself, I think that Wilson has always beat Chad in head to head match ups at the JV level. I know JV is extremely different than Varsity, but that should also be a least a minor factor in the decision of Chad v. Nick
  15. Only said it is probably a good thing just from the aspect of still being a young coach and not having much experience. However, I have not heard word on who is going to be the coach.
  16. Word on the street in Bellevue is Chad Montgomery is no longer in the running, which is probably a good thing.
  17. If this 1A alignment is true, then Bellevue's only real competition for a state championship each year would be Dayton and Frankfort. Good news for all you Tiger Fans!!
  18. I have heard and also saw on the internet that Coach Deaton is looking for a couple assistant coaches. Who is leaving? I have also heard Montgomery applied for the Bellevue head coaching job. Is there any truth to that?
  19. My bad...didn't specify! I meant that the word on the street is they are not going to start interviewing until after the testing window. I also haven't heard of any teacher openings.
  20. Word on the streets of Bellevue is that a new coach will be announced shortly after the state testing window.
  21. Also, from what I hear...other Bellevue players are signing as well. Marcus Reynolds at Kentucky Christian University Ricky Buckler at The University of the Cumberlands Mike Rankin at Thomas More College Alex Hegge at Brescia (for baseball) Way to go Tigers!!
  22. Why wouldn't Wilson be the next head coach? Or what makes him a bad candidate over Chad?
  23. No way, I dont consider it that big of an upset. Sure, Holmes was the favorite, but I don't think a lot of people are too surprised about Newport winning. Winning by 26, maybe...
  24. Great job by the Wildcats! I was really impressed with the gameplan by Coach Aric Russel and the Newport Wildcats today. Cody Collins played a great game when defending Pittman. The Wildcats did a great job on the boards, limiting Holmes second-chance points. I can't say enough about the play of Demarcko Foster. His game is fearless, smooth, and downright a joy to watch. Congrats to the Wildcats on getting to Rupp, you deserve it boys!
