He who's name is not to be mentioned, is suspended.

Holmes 47 Newport Central Catholic 38
I disagree with the foul calling. Holmes gets away with alot more calls. I think the 16th region official were intimidated by Holmes.

Holmes 47 Newport Central Catholic 38
The player for NCC called for an intentional, came away with the ball. I think with out that call, this game comes down to the wire. If these officials are the best of the 16th, I would hate to see the rest of them. These guys were horrible on both sides of the court. Riley had a huge game, his hustle kept NCC from having many open looks from 3. Should be an exciting game Tuesday, Boone comes in owning a prior victory, Holmes comes in wanting some payback.

Mason County 58 Bishop Brossart 35
Very surprised by the score, thought it would be much closer. Good luck to my Saint Joseph Seniors on Bishop Brossart; Mitch Patterson, Joe Webb, Drew Kramer. I hope you carry the comradery and sportmanship with you the rest of your life. Mr. O

How does the BOK compare with EKU's facilities?
BOK Pros: New facility, nice seating, great lighting, players love the floor. BOK cons: hard to get the noisy atmosphere, local lodging. Just my opinion, I live 2 minutes away from BOK.

Holmes vying for state championship
I agree. Dawgs don't get past the 2nd round of the Sweet 16, PERIOD.

9th Region Semi's: Holmes v Newcath Predictions (3/8)
There are 4 Seniors on NCC that know this could possibly be the last High School game. I believe they will play with some intensity that was missing the 1st go-round with Holmes. I look for it to be a very exciting game. I am hoping NCC comes out on top. Go Breds!!!!!!

Newport Central Catholic 43 Dixie 41
Very exciting game, Dixie hung in there to the very end. NCC managed to pull it out. Conner hit some big shots, Jake O showed up on offense, Matt G. huge steal / bucket, great effort to get the buzzer beater. Nice to see the scoring spread out, NCC will need it to compete with Holmes. Go Breds !!!!!!!

St. Henry vs Highlands
I would estimate more like 280

St. Henry vs Highlands
If you use NCC for a barometer in this match up: NCC beat HHS at Highlands by 6, while missing 19 free throws. NNC beat HHS at home by 22, while shooting lights-out from beyond the arc. NCC beat ST. Henry in overtime by 9. With this being said, I think it is a one point game either way.

Newport Central Catholic vs Dixie
NCC should win this game. The last time NCC played Dixie on a Monday night, the Seniors were coming off an exhausting weekend with Senior retreat. The Breds will be ready to go in this one. NCC by 10.
-
Newport Central Catholic 76 Highlands 54
That's funny. They did the same thing the last time NCC beat them. I guess if NCC ever played Highlands in football, NCC could chant " let's play basketball.":dancingpa

Newport Central Catholic 76 Highlands 54
I don't believe they had a pep rally. I know I gave my son one though. That is exactly what I told him, " this is the last time you step on your home court, make it a good one." He didn't let me down. I see the Breds get a chance to avenge their loss to Dixie, then with any luck they get to tangle with the dawgs.

Way to go Breds. I am very proud of you boys. Everybody stepped up tonight. Good luck in the 9th. Who knows what could happen with a lucky draw.

Newport Central Catholic vs Highlands
I don't think Grubbs played much in the 1st go-round. He looked good against Newport. On the otherhand, NCC was also missing Jake Ollberding. I look for him to help down low. Should be a good game.

Newport Central Catholic vs Highlands
I have to go with NCC. They have 4 Seniors that realiize this is the last time they step foot on their home floor. It should be a very good game. I look for Conner to shoot lights-out, and send the Birds to the region as runner-up.

Who will win the 9th Region?
33rd: Boone and Ryle. 34th: Dixie and St. Henry 35th: Holmes and CovCath 36th: NewCath and Newport I am going with Boone to win it all.
-
Ryle 50 Newport Central Catholic 48
Game tied, NCC with possession taking the last shot. J. Geisler called for over-the-back. Puts Ryle on the line to win the game. Very questionable call. Game should have went into overtime. The officials decided this game, not the players.

Scott 54 Covington Catholic 42
I can only wonder how many games would have went the other way with Shover in the line up. The rivals better get thier wins while they can, CovCath will bounce back.

Elliott County 89 Ballard 75
Way to go Elliott. I was not a believer until now. I saw the SV/Elliott game and thought EC was just beating up on average teams, this sheds a new light. I also watched the supposed # 1 team play a couple times this week. I am changing my pole. 1. Scott Co. 2. Shelby Valley 3. Elliott County 4. Holmes Go Elliott, would love to see you guys finish up undefeated.

Holmes 56 Newport Central Catholic 44
These were my thoughts exactly. I was totally impressed when Holmes beat Scott Co., but this was not the same team.:idunno:

Holmes 56 Newport Central Catholic 44
Honestly I was not that all impressed with Holmes tonight. I know this game does not mean much, but I have seen NCC lose to better teams. Boone being one, and Shelby Valley Being the other. If Holmes doesn't pick it up, they may not make it out of NKU. I thought Holmes would win it all, but I am definately having 2nd thoughts.
