I think the possibility is there for a good mid-pack 6A team, but I think the same about Campbell County and Dixie. I think SK will be an early out come playoff time due to the patsy schedule. Like I said, it will be a lot clearer on Saturday morning.

Highlands has a nice streak going, but to say CovCath will never beat them again is going overboard. They'll continue to produce the athletes and eventually they'll come up with a coach who can get the kids to buy in. Highlands doesn't have a limitless source of elite athletes, just a coaching staff that is excellent at fitting kids in where they can best benefit the system. CovCath will figure it out eventually.

WAY overstated. 1a & 2a deserve to be in the conversation. There is no 3a. You can make a pretty decent case for NKY 4a as the standard bearer. 5a is second tier around here with only the Cooper appearance in the finals a couple of years back, and 6a is the same way compared to the Louisville area.

Never. The rivalry will always be defined by which team in your district is the most able to give you a game year in and year out. CovCath didn't live up to that this past Friday, but I'm sure they'll wind up being the most competitive when all is said and done, as usual. Campbell County being a 6A team would put them into the local rival category, nothing more. Same with NewCath if the opportunity ever presents itself again.
