Baseball is big in Harrison Co. and they only have a few good athletes. Players are given frequent hints that they are to participate in summer games or else.... If you were a coach would you want to fight this battle?? However, the new coach will get to break-in a new stadium that is beautiful!!

Sorry to dissappoint you, but this years team has been about team first. Perfect? No, but they've played a heck of alot better defense this year than last year ever thought about... No where near the selfishness that was exhibited last year either.

I really like his game. He shows no emotion and never seems to get rattled. Pendleton will be extremly tough the next 4 years with him at the point. Keep your heads up Wildcats. You'll probably draw Harrison again for the next 5 years!! Like the past 5 years! Harrison finally won one of the first round games!

So you're saying that Harrison's not improved since the 28 point lost to Scott?

That game was the first or second week of the season. I would hope that all teams have improved since then... Harrison also got beat handily by Grant Co. the first game of the season. Harrison beats Pendleton on Sunday by 18 and Pendleton turns around and beats Grant Co. by 8... You figure it out!! High School players are "like boxes of chocalate, you never know what your going to get!! "

38th District is Harrison, Pendleton, Nicholas, and Deming. Don't leave out the Thorobreds!

Coach Crisp stands up for his player, but I don't see how the short leash will come into play. Crisp and Whitaker are totally different from a personality point of view. If anything I would think it would be "refreshing" to referees. They were the ones under the microscope when Whitaker was on the sidelines. Not to say Crisp is any different, but I don't think he's as demeaning to refs.

Mac got out for a reason... Obviously he couldn't juggle girl's basketball and baseball. There is no comparison to which sport in Cynthiana has the best feeder program. Girl's practically start basketball in Harrison Co. in the 6th grade. (some play Rec.Ball) Baseball starts at age 5. That would be instructional tee-ball. Success in athletics begins and ends with a good feeder program. Enough said. Give Jason Crisp time and success is sure to follow. He will get a feeder program established and will become a regional contender year-in-and-year-out. You can still treat people the way you'd want to be treated and be successful. He has character, works hard, and his players seem to like him as well!! Go Fillies!!

Mason Co. depth and strength to much for Harrison Co. to overcome. Harrison turnovers and shooting prove to be the difference. Good showing for the Breds though. Go Breds!

This is the first group that started playing against other counties best players. They've not sanctioned in AAU, but they should. Started in the 4th grade and they've worked their butts off. Group is fundamentally sound due to good coaching in 4th thru 6th grades. Harrison should have good players in the grades behind them as well. Should be an interesting future. Success will be determined by how much time they devote to basketball in a baseball school...

Harrison Co. support for players has been dwindling for a few years. But, this year it has really dropped off... Part of it is the inconsistent play of players and just face it, EVERYONE loves a WINNER. Don't expect fans to come out in droves!! Heck, they're too busy tearing apart instead of building people up! The community as a whole doesn't support basketball either. You should see the facilities that the recreation department uses for youth basketball. What a shame! Shame, Shame, Shame... And I have a young child that will get to use those facilities. I just hope the future of basketball gets better!! Enough said!!

Harrison led every quarter and led 37-35 at the half. South shot 7 of 11 from 3 in the first half and cooled off a little in the second half. Harrison had 5 players in double figures. Eric Case led the breds with hot shooting with 19 points, Fonz Custard finished with 17 points and buried his freethrows down the stretch, John Reitz and Malcolm Thomas each had 10 points a piece. Jared Martin had 1 point, but had 11 assist. Ryan Pucket had 12 points and hit a couple of crucial 3's while South was making a run late in the game. Harrison led by as much as 11 in the 3rd and 4th quarters. Harrison is now one game over .500 at 4-3. Harrison has now won 4 game in a row. Harrison plays Bath Co Sunday at 1:30 p.m. and both teams are 2-0 in pool play.

Harrison led 36-15 at the half and Barren closed to 11 at the end while Harrison had subbed. Harrison had 3 players in double digit scoring. Case 19, Puckett 12, and Thomas with 10. Custard had 7, and Reitz with 9 points. Harrison's record now is 3-3 and will play Muhlenburg South in pool play @ 9:00 pm Saturday evening in the Twin Lakes tourney in Clinton Co.

10 region had better beware.... Scott is strong, physical, and a solid defensive team. They wear you down and Harrison didn't handle their defensive intensity very well...

PC is loaded in the 8th grade. They have size and potential D1 player in the future. I don't think anyone in the district and region will be able to contend with them when they're Jr's and Sr's. If they develop, it'll be a cakewalk through the 38th district. Everyone needs to be patient and Simms will have them ready in about 2-3 years!

Coach Whitaker from Harrison County could be a possiblility. He could "double dip"--- Receive teacher retirement and be paid from a private school for his baseball services... You would have a proven baseball power with a "proven winner" as coach... Would be "powerhouse" combination! What do you think?

What about Larry Kendall from Harrison County?? He is the younger brother of former Harrison head coach. He has been an assistant for a number of years. Not sure if he's ready???

Bourbon needs to find someone that's eager to coach and willing to work to build a program from the ground up. Good basketball programs don't magically appear anymore. Players and programs need to be built and basketball is emphasized year-round!! Finding a long term committment is difficult but you've got to stay the course.

Have they named a coach yet?? Speculation? Interest in the job??

Can you imagine the players and parents in Scott Co. that have been loyal to the "Red Heat" and then all of a sudden players begin transferring in from other counties in KY?? Why wouldn't you want to transfer?? Heck, I would look for other opportunities if I really loved the game. You can be to Cynthiana or Paris in 20 minutes. The number 7-10th player on Scott Co. roster would be "All 10th Region" at Harrison, Bourbon or Paris.

Breds will rebound. Write it down my friends!! Brossart won't stand a chance if they meet in the region. I'll guarantee that they'll see the best the Breds have to offer. Mac will play/pitch only the players he trusts and the bats will be rolling!!!
