This meet was the Nothern Kentucky Athletic Conference Championship. It was hosted by Dixie this year, but it rotates around Northern Kentucky each year. The whole meet is relays. Great competition and the pictures were good on this thread.

I understand that Brianna Peters from Campbell Co. will also be playing in the game.

What boys and girls teams look to be strong this year in the Northern Kentucky area?

Coach Collins has done a good job this year as a 1st year head coach. Congrats to him and the Ladycats.

Some of you Campbell people obsess too much about beating Brossart as a sign of success or failure to a good season. Both games this year were hard fought battles that could have gone either way depending upon a few mistakes or missed shots at key times. This rivalry is great for the game and the community, but many overlook Coach Cravens's success since he has been at Campbell. 200 wins over 13 years which works out to roughly 15 wins a season, a regional championship, several district championships, and several regional appearences. Many schools and communities would be very proud and pleased with results from a coach with this type of record. This year's team performed well at times, beating Mason Co., Scott, and Pendleton Co. (all going to the 10th regional championship), and St. Patricks that some considered a potential 10th region contender. Despite having some starters back this year, this team was young and most lacked any varsity experience. This situation will lead to highs and lows as the year progresses and this situation is often really magnified when young players feel the pressures of post season and against their arch rival to boot. The Lady Camels played hard in this game and were very motivated to win, but take nothing away from a senior led Brossart team that hit key shots at key times to win. Coaches don't miss shots, make bad passes, or decisions on the floor, players do, especially young players in pressure situations. The girls did their best and will learn from this experience and come back stronger for it. Pinning a good or bad program by a coach on a winning or losing record against one team is not right. Not many coaches have winning records against teams like Boone Co., Notre Dame, Highlands, NCC and the like , but thoses coaches aren't being critisized for it.

Maybe it was the good Campbell Co. defense that prevented her from having more touches?

Does anyone have pictures of the outside of the Mason Co. Fieldhouse and/or an inside shot of the floor? They are hosting the regional this year?

Did Ludlow host a team camp last week? If so, what schools were there and which teams played well?

Congratulations to Katie Kitchen for signing yesterday to play at Thomas More next year. Katie had an excellent career at Campbell Co. She will join Paige Bowling who signed with the Saints a week or so ago. Good luck Katie.

Paige Bowling of Campbell Co. has signed Friday, April 17th to play next year at Thomas More College. She had a very fine career for the Lady Camels and she played a major role in the team's back to back district championships and regional semifinal appearences. The Saints are getting a quality person on and off the court. Good Luck Paige!

Who is going to have a chance at Regional Championships this year in the A,AA, and AAA divisions this year in Northern Kentucky. Who are the top track athletes?

What about Campbell Co? They have 3 starters back from this year and have a very good group of freshmen who were regional runner-up this season

Dixie was no match for Ryle after the 1st quarter. I noticed in the box scores that Luebbe for Dixie did not score. Did she play or did she just have a bad game? Ryle is loaded with a bunch of athletic players.

Another loss for Dixie. They seem to play most teams fairly close like they did last night with Conner, but they can't seem to get any W's.

I don't think this mess is the fault of the AD's from the schools. The schedule is being set through the Central Office and the schools are being told the times and dates they are hosting. Nonsports people trying to run a tournament is usually a recipe for a mess.

ND came out of the gate fast and the Camels had to play catch-up all night. They cut the ND lead to 1 point midway through the 3rd quarter and had some chances to take the lead, but could not hit the go ahead hoop. The Camels were short-handed due to some illness, but they played hard all the way to the end and gave the Pandas a tough game. They just ran out of steam near the end to account for the final margin of victory.

Congratulations Coach Shields! I whole-heartedly agree with cc24 that he has built a solid program at VMA that is competitive every year. I wish you continued success.

Coach Cravens has done a nice job developing her over the years into a good, all-round player who can play inside or outside. Congrats to Katie and Coach Cravens. Not to many coaches have members in the 1000 point club.

Does anybody know what the Newport vs. Dixie score was back on Dec. 29th? It is not on the state scoreboard and I did not see a thread score on it. Newport seems to be on the turn around this season.

On paper, Campbell should win, but it will not be easy. Winless teams, like Mason, who have a decent team and a lot of pride, are dangerous. They will play hard.

IMO, I don't know if coaching had so much to do with Brossart hanging in the game as much as good shooting from Bezold in the 1st half and Uthe in the 2nd half. Brossart's coach is a good coach, but as demons20 said in their post,most of the time, a coach is only as good as what they are given to work with. The Stangs will be fine, but Campbell probably has more talent right now on their varsity team and should have won the game. As far as the Campbell coaching staff is concerned, they are a good group with a lot of basketball knowledge and coaching experience. Coach Cravens runs an excellent program and is a good game coach. That former freshman coach you have such contempt for, I understand has been coaching at the high school level for many years at the freshmen, JV, and varsity assistant levels and has had success. He was not given much to work with the last 2 years. I have heard the best freshmen played at a higher level and there is only 1 player still in the program from the freshmen team of 2 years ago and the 4 or 5 left from last year's team are on the JV team and get no varsity time. He decided not to continue coaching at his previous school, despite being asked to stay when a head coaching change was made there. Demons20 has it right. Support the team, support the coaching staff, celebrate their success.

Campbell Co. is the defending District Champs and may take exception to Scott being considered the favorite when Campbell has a solid returning team to defend that title.

Are they good enough to get by Dixie and win a district title,which they have not been able to do in recent seasons?

Congratulations to Head Coach Steve Frommeyer for picking up his 200th victory as a head coach at Eminence. He has done a tremendous job there over the years to put competitive teams on the field every year and making a difference in the lives of his players that he has coached.
