Congrats Bracken Co! St.Pat fans keep crying because I'm enjoying this. Just makes this win that much better for Bracken Co! And I'm not even a Bracken Co fan or a St.Pat fan. I'm just a fan of girls basketball and it's a shame that the losing team just can't give the other team any credit. You may feel you have the better team but you must remember, You Still Have To Play The Game!!!

Looks like Kentucky*Orbit's limb didn't break after all when he predicted Bracken Co over St. Pat. He seemed to ruffle some feathers when he made that prediction after the Paris/St. Pat game. :sssh:

I agree....I would rather have the challenge of stopping Cline from scoring than Chambers if I were a coach.

Chambers was the best athlete in the 10th Region. I don't even think it is a close race. There are a lot of good players in the 10th Region and there are only a few great players in the 10th Region. As far as overall abilities, Chambers is the best athlete in the 10th Region. Don't get me wrong, Prewitt is another one of those few great players in the 10th Region. If Chambers wasn't in the 10th Region, then you would have a case for Prewitt. But anybody (well almost anybody) who thinks Prewitt is a better overall athlete that Chambers, is either a relative of hers or has ties with Montgomery Co. And this is coming from an individual who doesn't have ties to either player or school. And for the record, I think that Montgomery Co could still do damage and be a force to recon with without Prewitt. If you don't beleive that, then just watch at what they do after Prewitt graduates. Mason Co would not do as well without Chambers.

If the Mason County players are thinking like you are, then they might get upset. What happened early in the season is in the past. Your comment is like me saying that Harrison County beat Bourbon fairly easily and Mason Co barely beat a Bourbon County team that dominated em the whole night which means Harrison will win. You still have to play the game. I'll take Mason Co to win. It could very well be another blowout but I think it will be close. I also wouldn't be surprised in Harrison Co upset them too. Mac Whitaker doesn't get beat bad by the same team too often.

Harrison Co has been under the radar all season. Mac Whitaker as an underdog is always a dangerous situation.:sssh:

I couldn't agree more. If i had to choose a coach from the 10th Region to coach my kid, Terence Brooks would been my choice. Actually, it's not even a hard decision. To have as good a season as Paris had with dealing with the bad shooting all season long, I'd say he deserves Coach of the Year. Not too many coaches can win games knowing that their team is probably not going to shoot the ball well. How many coaches can get their team to the All A State Championship game with no offense? To say he got outcoached is absurd. Paris' bad shooting just finally caught up with them. And you have to give Clark Co credit too because they were able to knock down shoots. I agree with Hawgball, you can be the best coach in the world but if your team keeps missing free throws and continues to miss layups, you lower your chances of beating anybody.

I'll take Harrison Co in this one too.

:laugh: I disagree. If you have seen Paris play all season, you would know that they don't shoot the ball well. They have probably shot 25% from the field the whole season. If Mason Co's defense was the cause of the bad shooting for Paris then you have to give credit to all the other teams that Paris has played (win or loss) for making them shoot a bad percentage. Paris shoots a lot of shots from the outside and they haven't really powered anybody inside all season. And the reason for the 60 points allowed were for the free throws made in the 4th quarter due to Paris intentionally fouling to stop the clock. I'll give Mason County credit, they were the better team that night. Outside of the Chambers kid being unstoppable, the only other thing that Mason Co did that Paris didn't was make shots. And that's why they won.

I agree with you about Paris not allowing 77 points. I think it will be a great game.:banana:

You are right. In your eyes, you see that Trimble Co caused Paris to shoot 19% although Paris was shooting wide open shots. In my eyes, I see a Paris team that couldn't shoot it in a river, shot 19% for the game and was still able to win the game by only scoring 26 points. :ylsuper: But no need to go on and on about it. That game is over with....

The 40th District is probably the toughest District in state. I don't think Montgomery overlooked Bourbon County. I think that Bourbon County just beat them. I don't think that Montgomery County overlooked Paris. I think Paris played a great game and had the chance to win against Montgomery in the final minutes and just came up short. That tells me that the competition in the 40th District is not too far apart. I don't think that Montgomery's tough schedule had anything to do with the loss at Bourbon. Paris has a regular season schedule just as tough or tougher. Montgomery is the favorite but I wouldn't be too terrible surprised if Clark, Bourbon, or Paris knocked them off. That's all I was saying. And congrats on the win over Sacred Heart. Way to bounce back.

The resume is nice but it means nothing during the post season. When it comes to the Region Tourney, a good team with a good resume could get beat just like any other team. Bourbon County just proved that. And had Paris hit free throws, Montgomery County would have 2 District losses. I wouldn't get wrapped up in the resume. Just ask Tom Brady and the New England Patriots about a season resume. Montgomery County is the favorite to represent the 40th in Bowling Green but they haven't been given the Regional Champion Trophy yet.

Did you see the game? Paris shot 10/52 from the field. When a Paris player shoots a wide open jump shot and misses, you can't credit the other team with playing good defense. If Paris knocks down just 5 of those WIDE OPEN shots, the game is not even close. Trimble County's (Miller) did block a few shots but that was expected considering that she is 6'3" or taller. You are right, defense is NOT just about creating turnovers but if you saw the same game that I saw, you would know that Paris got every shot that they wanted fairly easy.

Paris started 0-4 this season. Since then, they have won 11 out of their last 13 games. With the schedule that they play, that's pretty impressive. I like Paris to win this game and to make a good run in this tourney.

To correct you, it wasn't much offense for Villa Maria. It was plenty of offense for Paris. They aren't going to score a lot of points. Their game plan is to shut the other opponent down and that is what they usually do. Coach Brooks's kids know that if they don't play defense, they don't play at all. If you need proof of that, then look at the Top 5 defensive team rankings in the state and you will see Paris in that group. Paris has been a great defensive team ever since Brooks took over in 2004. Big win for Paris going into the All A State Tournament.

Well, Bracken County did start the night out in a zone against Paris and that lasted about 2 minutes due to the sharp shooting of Paris. The Paris team from the beginning of the season would have stood outside the key and jacked up 3s and long J's. Now Paris is penetrating well and knocking down shots when they need to. I think it is safe to say that Paris is peaking right now and that is due to the tough schedule that they play and the dedicated coaching staff that they have. Paris has been ranked in the Top 3 of the 10th region for the majority of the season and now they are playing like they belong there. They will be tough to beat regardless of what defense you play on them.
