The tourney tips off Monday night with Montgomery County and Bourbon County. Bourbon pulled off a huge upset a few weeks ago knocking off the Indians at home giving them their only region loss. Can the Colonels do it again or is MC too much to handle come post-season play??

 

Tuesday night Paris plays Clark County. Both teams split in the regular season by the same margin.. (I think) Paris has lost their last 2 games while Clark has won their last 2. They both play Friday night leading into the tournament. Will Paris bounce back, or can Clark continue the run they are currently on?

 

It's a shame that two of these teams won't make the region tournament when clearly all 4 are in the top 5 of the 10th!:fight:

Montgomery and Paris in the district finals is my prediction.

For Montgomery Co./Bourbon Co., I think Bourbon beating Montgomery Co. not too long ago could actually be a bad thing for them. Montgomery will be ready to come and play, and won't let that happen to them again. Bourbon has proved themselves to be a pretty good team, but Montgomery has been playing great basketball lately, and knows that it's one and done come postseason, and they definitely won't let this team beat them twice.

 

As for Clark and Paris, this game could go either way, but I think Paris will come away with the victory. They hung tough with Mason County this past Monday, and I think their defense will shut down Clark. Their biggest problem is getting their shots to fall. They had the shots against Mason, they just couldn't hit them, so that will be a huge key for Paris, because their defense is obviously great. The offense will have to be there as well to win this game.

I have to give credit to Mason's defense for Paris shots not falling. Mason County defense forced Paris to shoot 25% from the field, forced them to shoot from the outside long range and Paris defense was not great in this game as they allowed 60 points.

I'd like to see Paris and Bourbon in the finals but I know MC won't let that happen. They are just too good. Indians win the district and the region(again)

No. I don't think Paris has beaten MC in 3 years...definitely won't happen in the post-season.However I'd like to see Paris prove me wrong.

I don't think Paris will beat MC for the district title. Montgomery will be focused, and I don't think they will let any upsets happen.

Montgomery will be too much for Bourbon this time of year. Montgomery will have a chip on their shoulder from the last game. Montgomery by 10+

 

Paris-Clark Co. should be an excellent game. Paris obviously is one of the best defensive teams in the region and state for that matter. However Clark doesn't have a bad defense themselves. Clark supplies too much offense in this one and wins by 5.

:laugh: I disagree. If you have seen Paris play all season, you would know that they don't shoot the ball well. They have probably shot 25% from the field the whole season. If Mason Co's defense was the cause of the bad shooting for Paris then you have to give credit to all the other teams that Paris has played (win or loss) for making them shoot a bad percentage. Paris shoots a lot of shots from the outside and they haven't really powered anybody inside all season. And the reason for the 60 points allowed were for the free throws made in the 4th quarter due to Paris intentionally fouling to stop the clock.

I never said Paris was an exceptional shooting team, but I know a much better and higher percentage shot is closer to the basket than what was allowed that night when Mason played Paris. That my friend is a credit to the defense for shutting down higher percentage shots in the lane. Everyone has talked up Paris and their defense and rightfully so as they are a pretty good defensive team, but on this night bud, Mason was the better on both sides of the ball.

Lets see, we can talk about the turnover department which Mason forced more than Paris did, we can talk about a 8th grader for Mason that quite possibly played a complete game and, we can talk about Cline playing a great floor game and defensive game with 4 steals to go along with 5 assists and 15 points. The only thing Paris accomplished this night was win the JV game handily.

Geez dude what do you have against the Ladyhounds? They were in the game until late in the third quarter. you make it sound as if Mason blew this game away from the tip and that was just not the case.
