I said I thought it would be close or Boone win. So who's number 1 now?

Hard to tell they haven't really played anyone but I would think top 5 mixed In with ND NCC HC Boone. Big game tonight I look for Boone to keep it close and maybe win.

Something odd there. Hearn only had 4 points. Was she in early foul trouble or get injured or something. Anybody who was there, please elaborate.

That's a very solid non conference schedule one or two not regional contenders but overall most will be regional tournamnet. What's Conners?

Who are Highlands, Conner and Ryle non-conference/non-regional opponents? Are these 4 softess for Highlands and Ryle non-region/conference games?

Well said triplesevens, that is exactly what I was getting at. Boone and Ryle are in the same district and same conference so those things are equal, but out of conference appears much harder. Will it pay off for Boone and Ryle, only time will tell.

. Here is one example: NDA called a time out when they scored to tie it up with 9 seconds to go in the game. WV only had one time out remaining. NDA calling the time out allowed WV to advance the ball across mid court and call their final time out with 1.8 seconds remaining and draw up the game winning play.

I just looked at their over all schedule. I would agree that's very soft compared to other schools in the area with the same goals as Conner. Their out of region/conference games are not very challenging.

No doubt both sides played their hearts out but the experience of the WV coaches gave them the advantage in this closely contested game.

I think Smith vs Judy is A key match up, and if sandlin can get her average with ogle guarding her.

And of all of those WV is the only one required to take any of their students. So in my mind that makes them in a completely different category. ( now that should get some dialogue going). And I did forget brossart. Mea Culpa

For little schools I think I'll stick with Walton-Verona, NCC, and Holy Cross.

Pre season polls are rarely accurate after play actually begins. I'm curious to see your Northern Kentucky Top 10 teams after the first two weeks of play.

WV. Has played Campbell, Boone, south Oldham, and Owen. All quality opponents, all non District. As to why they played this one early I think it might be a hold over from years gone by when they opened the season against each other. Pre realignment and re districting.

The key to the game IMHO was the 2nd and third shot attempts SK was able to get in the first half. I have not seen statistics but that was definitely how it felt watching it.

Wow. Sound kinda angry there Papa Bear. It's not their "divine right" but I sure would like to see the best teams make it to the regional tournament. By your way of thinking we should just randomly select 16 teams to play down state and crown our state champion out of those.

I just looked at their schedule. I would think they might not look as good against their last two opponents as they did Dixie. I agree with Way2serious, you seem to be criticizing. Also, what would SH (is that Sacred Heart ) Conner and ND identity be?

According to KHSAA bylaws a school can vote to seed for their boys and to draw for their girls. not a popular move, but legal.

How many beatings like that will be dished out before Silver Grove, Calvary, and Scott vote for a blind draw for the District Tournament and screw Brossart and Campbell like Newport, Dayton, and Bellevue have done to Highlands and NCC.

So did the mercy rule work?? Can you mandate mercy?

I would say the big losers are the starters on the losing team. They were obviously outmatched by the winning teams starters, but could benefit by playing against the winning teams third string. They are probably not pushed in practice by their second string. If you run the clock you shorten the portion of the game that provides the greatest opportunity for growth of the losing team. I think the running clock rule should be at the losing coaches discretion.

I think the running clock is counter productive. How is Silver Grove going to get better if the game is shortened. Wouldn't their players gain more by playing against Brossarts subs for as long as they could? They paid the price against the starters, they should reap the benefit of "practicing" against the third string for as long as they can get.
