He seems to be almost back to full strength, but his conditioning seemed to have a ways to go after the injury. First full game back if I am not mistaken.

I would agree that Breathitt is having problems right now, but It seems a little quick to assume the program is doomed. Seems like a lot of parents tried to get involved and those may be gone now. They played first game last night with a new point guard that needs experience. They have lost six games, but most of these teams were decent teams:Allen Central, Knox Central, Pikeville, South Laurel, Buckhorn, and a team from out of state.

Did Denny Fugate coach PCC, when Hatcher was suspended?

I totally agree. Kids don't realize that playing high school sports is a privilege and not a right. Some players today seem to think that the whole team revolves around them and they should play every second of the game. I think that Coach Banks will turn the season around and have Breathitt ready for the post season.

I did not see the S Laurel game, but they definitely had some problems against Pikeville. They had a ton of turnovers for one thing. They looked out of sync on offense. It will be interesting to see if they can turn things around.

A coach is responsible for a lot of the things that go on with a team, but I think they are limited in what they can do as far as kids having heart and emotion. As far as chemistry goes, it probably comes down to putting the right combinations on the floor at the right time, but who knows what 16 and 17 year old kids are thinking. Some kids just don't bond together or even enjoy playing together and that makes it hard to have team chemistry. I really don't know the answer to building chemistry, but I think it starts with kids that can enjoy being around their teammates on and off the floor.

I feel that the best players do not always make for the best team. Sometimes the kids that really want to play and show alot of heart and emotion for the game make the best team. Especially if these kids have a good chemistry and enjoying playing with their teammates. Just my opinion.

I think they are actually joining the KHSAA and must play a limited schedule this year before being fulltime next season.

I agree. I think Buckhorn will win by 10 or better.

Estill is the favorite, but I think either Powell or Lee could win the district. I'm not saying that they will, but Powell, Lee, or Estill should win it with Estill being the slight favorite.

Any thoughts on the 14th?

Can Buckhorn pull it together after the tough schedule has resulted in several losses? They have some talent and a good young coach, but they need some wins.

That sounds right although Letcher played a close game at JBS earlier, I don't think it will be that close the second time around at JBS. Powell should get in the region and possibly as a district champ.

Sounds like the games last night were close, but it also sounds like nobody played very well.

These district games are always intense. Should be a good one to watch. Powell seems to have recovered well after losing so many seniors. Coach Lively has done a good job with his team. Wright also has his kids playing well. Either team could win the district.

Who beat Lee in the district? Sounds like they are playing pretty good right now. What is Owsley's district record?

I think Breathitt will pull things together and make a good run come March. They look like they are still trying to adjust to a different style of point guard after Noble left.

Seems like June Buchanon plays contend in the first half and then really turns it on in the second half. They will be hard to beat in the region, but Hazard may have a shot at them.

I thought Owsley may contend for the district title, but at 3-8 I am not so sure. Congrats to Redbird .
