Letcher was up 9-0 early and it was never close. I believe LCC was up 31 with about 6 minutes left.

What does this mean?

Breathitt had a huge size advantage, but didn't use it to their advantage. Wolfe out hustled Breathitt all night and seemed to want the game more than Breathitt. Wolfe County Coach had his team fired up and ready to play in this one.

I know the draw probably will not turn out that way, but if it did I wouldn't predict any upsets. Somebody in the top four will probably have to play in the first round, which will open the door for someone to sneak into the semi's. It is definitely all about the draw.

Here is my prediction on how the draw will come out. Perry (Runner-up) vs. Breathitt (winner) Lee (runner-up) Vs. Knott (winner) Wolfe (Runner-up) vs. Hazard (winner) Letcher (runner-up) vs. Estill (winner) Perry Vs. Knott Hazard vs. Letcher Perry vs. Hazard

The 53rd and 54th are really strong. I don't think the 55th or 56th can win a first round game unless they draw each other.

Game was never really close, Breathitt made a little run in the second quarter and cut it to around thirteen, but Whitaker and Warren was out of the game . I think it was 20 at halftime and 24 at the end of the third.

Tate Cox transferred from JBS to Knott and was ruled eligible

Breathitt has several talented players, but I don't see them improving enough to beat any of the favorites in the region. I think they will be among the 6 or 7 middle of the pack teams. According to the radio JBS had a 60-38 lead at one time and missed 14 free throws for the game. I still believe they will get better and should win the district, but I don't see them advancing too far in the region, without a favorable draw.

Clay beats Breathitt in the Big Red Shootout in Manchester. I thought Breathitt had a chance to win this one, but it looks like they are really going to struggle this year.

Anyone know who is supposed to report scores to the KHSAA? It only has one Breathitt Co. score from the Laurel Co. tournament. Anyone know the scores from their other games?

How good is the team from Virginia?

There is a good chance that Scott will be staying in London tonight instead of driving back home. That will be a big advantage if it works out that way.

Back to back games after 2 ot's can be tough to overcome. Buckhorn is always pretty good at home also.

Good win for Jackson. Jackson seems to have a pretty good starting lineup, but needs to find some help off the bench. They could be in contention for the district if they can develop one or two kids off the bench before seasons end. I don't think there is one team that can dominate the 55th and feel confident that they are going to win it.

I would think that most schools are not in session this week. Getting those days in may be of benefit at the end of the year, however most students and staff would probably rather have the two days before Christmas to spend with family. This looks like it was a pretty good game. How did both teams play? Who will Pendleton play now? Who will Breathitt play?

Thought this one would be a little closer. Anyone have stats or details from the game?

This is a nice win for Knott, but it is early in the season. Although the football players are back, I would have to believe that they are not in basketball form yet. They probably haven't touched a basketball since June. Late January and February is when you will be able to tell who is the real favorite to win the region. Knott, Perry and Hazard should prove to be the best of the region with Letcher close behind. I believe Hazard will still be the team to beat. Just a neutral opinion.
