3 Point Play

Sounds like Owsley is moving forward and Wolfe is moving backward. They had a couple of 30 point losses at Cordia and Woodford, but usually play better at home.

Any word on why he did not play? He played against Perry the other night. I hope he didn't try to come back too soon and worsen his injury. I hate to see kids get injured and have to sit out. Besides being a great player, He is an exceptional young man.

After tonights loss to Cordia, I think JBS should focus on getting out of the district before they become the state runner-up

Ryan Allen played last year, but I don't remember any other Allen that played. I remember the Epperson kid playing a little JV last year, but I don't remember him playing on the varsity. I don't think with the exception of maybe Ryan that the other two would be impact players this year. I think the biggest loss was Noble leaving. They haven't really been able to find a solid PG to replace him. The younger Fugate also hurt them some when he left, but he didn't seem to be the answer for the PG position. He was better suited as an 2guard.

That is why tournament time is exciting, you just never know. When the end of the season is on the line, everyone comes to play.

53- JBS and Knott 54- Hazard and Perry 55- Breathitt and Jackson 56- Estill and Lee

Perry beats Leslie. Buckhorn will play with a lot of heart and intensity, but Hazard wins. Hazard beats Perry in finals

Should be Estill and Lee in finals, but things don't always work out like they should. Lively will have Powell ready to play.

Who are the three solid players that elected to not come out? What other freshman could play that didn't?

I am not sure that there is a phenomenal athlete on any team in the region, but it does hurt to lose players. When kids are starting and they are still not satisfied surprises me. I guess they wanted to be the leading scorers instead of accepting a certain role.

Breathitt won at Wolfe earlier this year and I believe the district is at Breathitt this year, so advantage Breathitt.

Letcher has a good ball club and could win that district, but I guess JBS, Knott, or Cordia could win it too. Should be a heck of a district

I don't see Banks going anywhere soon. He had two kids that both started the first ten or so games and then decided to quit. Noble started every game last year and decided to follow his uncle to Owsley Co. and sit out the year, which resulted in playing several young players this year. Breathitt has several sophomores that are gaining lots of experience as well as a couple eighth graders and maybe a freshman or two. Breathitt will be pretty solid next year and can still make a run this post season. I wouldn't be surpised to see them win the district and being able to beat a runner-up from another district and getting back to the region semi-finals. I don't think the alumni will be able to decide if a coach stays or not.

Yeah, Jordan Amis still plays, but John did not play last night.

I agree with that. I think they held JBS to 13 points in the first half. They could beat anyone in the 14th right now.

JBS 78 Perry 56 with Cox or JBS 68 PCC 56 WIthout Cox

Several kids in the eighth grade play varsity basketball. These kids are usually hold backs that could be freshman instead of eighth graders. I think Eric Back played at PCC as an eighth grader and Clark Stepp played as a seventh grader at JBS.
