Listened to this one on the radio. Josh Reed led Owsley with 30pts Preson Wilso led the Wolves with 20. Owsley blew a 10 point 4th quarter lead, Wolfe missed to many free throws to count down the stretch giving Owsley every chance to pull away, but they never did. Great game to listen to I'm sure it was a fun one to watch. Whoever calls the game over in Campton does a tremendous job.

Side note....Owsley had 3 players foul out I believe.

Owsley County's playing much better lately. Powell thumped them early in the season, but barely got by the Owls by 5 in Stanton last week. The Owls beat Jackson City in OT Tuesday, after losing by 3 in December to the Tigers in Jackson. And now the Owls almost get the Wolves, after losing in December in Wolfe's tournament to them by 9, and by 11 to them at Estill's tournament.

I like the progress made by these young men heading into tournament play.:thumb:

I agree with you Professor. I don't think the 56th should count the Owls out so quick come tournament time. They did last year and look what happened.

Yes--3+, as Owsley had 16 fouls called on them the second half as opposed to 5 for the Wolves. Also, I hear there was a problem with the clock--seem to be sticking several times???Ha!

You have to have almost a 10-15 point better team sometimes when you go on the road. Seems like I saw a post about how physical Owsley was in the win over Jackson City though. I'm sure there was some cheap ones but i'd say if the Owls are playing that physical they earned a few to.

The Owls played well. They were the better team for most of the game. For the first three quarters the Wolves looked flat and disorganized. There were a lot of fouls called on the Owls but they do play a very physical game which tends to lead to fouls being called. Several Owls fouled out and that gave Wolfe the chance to win. In defense of the Wolves, they never quit. Wilson played great!

Actually it was 4.

Four players fouled out, and they led for most of the game:creepy:. The Owls need to stop playing such intense defense when they have the lead.

Have to agree Proffessor! When you have a lead there is no need to be in a hurry and make silly turnovers and miss easy layups. Owsley has been improving with every game, they have a good young cast coming up and you can tell with every game they are gaining the experience they need to make a run at the District title.

Agree. :thumb:

They seem to be gaining more confidence and are playing harder.

Now, if they could just do something about those darn turnovers.

Remember last year in the 56th district tournament, could Owsley County be getting ready to knock off another #1 seed?

Rest assured the Engineers have taken notice and will be ready for a fight in that first district game.
