Turns out it wasn't a hyperextended thumb. More like a broken thumb with joint involvement. He is cleared to play tonight. Hope it doesn't rain much.

To open in 2026. No more Ray Jay. I figure a year's delay, so the first game in the new stadium could be opening day 2027 vs Louisville. At least that is what the future schedules show for the opener in 2027.

If last night's preseason game with Northeast was any indication, Countryside may in for a long year. The defense is solid, but the offense was not good. However, they only ran 6 different plays last night. The Cougars are in Class 3M Region 2 District 7 with Seminole, Osceola, and Largo. Their schedule is a bit weird. They only have 4 road games and all of their district games are at home. If they can generate some points, they have at least a chance at the playoffs. My grandson had an amazing summer, if your a kid that loves playing football. He attended the USF, Notre Dame, and Michigan State camps. Iowa State and Virginia have contacted him after seeing him in the spring. If he continues to improve and with his contacts, he may get more interest. I'm biased and not expert by any stretch, so take that for what it's worth. ? Last night he had a couple of tackles for loss, playing with an hyperextended thumb which he got the day before in practice. He said after the game it was killing him. He couldn't get a hold of anything with his left hand. He played through to the 4th quarter when they pulled the starters, though.

This Friday and Saturday is basically pre-season and jamboree week in Florida. I do not understand Florida's transfer rules, but my grandson is back with Countryside playing OLB, now. He's gotten much bigger, Max Preps lists him at 6'2" 215. He plays a little TE on offense, too, now. Last week, Countryside played in a jamboree at IMG Academy against IMG's White and Blue teams and St. Petersburg Catholic. They beat the Blue team, lost to the White team, and dominated St. Pete Catholic. The grandson had a really good day, catching a TD in the game against the White team, and forcing a fumble in the SPC game. He had 10 tackles. That campus is bigger than some colleges I've been to and the living quarters are amazing. We (daughter, son-in-law, and in-laws parents) got to walk around some before and after the games. Their two practice fields separate from the main stadium, one turf, one natural grass, are impressive to say the least. They hosted a cookout after the games for all the players involved and their families.

I will be at the Fall Football Classic at Northeast High School (St. Pete, FL). They are taking on Countryside High at 7pm. (Preseason Game.)

Thanks everyone. Sorry I haven't been on in a while. Things been hapnin'. For one, I am now on Medicare. That makes me officially old. Second, my side hustle is trying to take off. Keeps me extremely busy.

For me it was Willy Taggart's first game as USF head coach, a 53-21 beat down by McNeese State.

Well it took 3 years, but I finally got it. My sister-in-law went to Vegas in late January. When she got back she came over to our new place to help Mrs. S with the on-going task of setting up house, not showing any symptoms until the next day. She gave it to Mrs. S, who in turn gave it to me. The sister-n-law and Mrs. S only suffered bad head cold/sinus symptoms. Nothing affected in the pulmonary, thank God. I had the same only I also had a persistent high grade fever that I could not get rid of. My temp would go over 100. I'd take Tylenol. The fever would break and be back in a few hours. It went on like that for over a week. The girls had no fever. I stayed isolated from Mrs. S during my bout. I've been symptom free for over a week. The only thing I still have is not being able to taste or smell anything.

Reverend Jim taking his driver's license test is still best scene in TV history for me, but this is close second and a Thanksgiving tradition in my home.

Florida State Finals Metro Category M2 Miami Central 38 American Heritage 31 Central led 31-13 at the half. Heritage cut the lead to 7 and got the ball on their own 37 with 3:01 to go. They drove to the Central 34, but a fumble on a pass completion at the Central 24 ended any hopes for Heritage.
