  1. Sadly the quality of officials are normally not as good for girls games.
  2. that was a tough break for Trimble, she's a good player-would have made the difference in the game.
  3. Good win for Walton! Trimble is well coached and tough to beat at home.
  4. I saw SK against Manual last Saturday and I would say if your Walton you shouldn't try to press them. If they have a weakness it's there inside game. It doesn't look at strong as it has been in the past. That being said I would get in a 3-2 and stay in it. Use the Dixon girl and #11 Harget down low. Your betting on Dixon and Harget being able to contain SK. down low in order to try to stop penetration and outside shooting with the 3 guards up top. You have to give up something and my guess against SK your better off in your game plan to try to make sure you stop the guards and give a little on the inside.
  5. Kelly Dixon was huge in this game for Walton. Should be a starter the rest of the year. I saw her in AAU this past year she can flat out play. Walton is going to have to learn to get her the rock!! I like Morris from Gallatin she is a good ball handler and can shoot well. One observation about Walton is they look like they have more weapons this year. They shouldn't have to depend on #11 for their scoring.
  6. Wow!!! I guess Trimble was able to handle the pressure D of Carroll. I thought that would be a tough task for them. Congrats to Carroll!!
  7. I agree, Trimble has a lot of experience but I don't think they will do well with the up and down the floor style that Carroll will try to force them to play. If Carroll can turn up the pressure and keep Trimble out of their half court offense it will be a easy win for Carroll. If Trimble is able to handle the pressure and get the ball up the court into a half court offense Miller could be a problem for Carroll
  8. I forgot to mention. Carrolls guards played a great game that night!!!
  9. good point Jeanie, #11 Hargett is not a true post. but in that game she could have had a field day at the post. CC is strong at guard but weak on the inside. So to me the thing to do would have been to play Hargett at the post in the halfcourt offense. As far a playing the point I agree it has to be tough for her. But from my observation of the game the really would need her to do that if Walton would have had a decent press break. No one flashing to the middle of the floor in there break (very odd) I don't know but I think Gallatin will have a advantage over Walton.
  10. Starting last year I haven't seen Walton display the ability to put together a coherent game plan. I think they can be knocked off by anybody at anytime. Just my observation.
  11. Jeanie, I couldn't agree with you more. Walton was trying to pressure Carroll for no reason. I think if they would have got back in a zone and made Carroll beat them from the outside it would have been a different game. Same kind of elementary mistakes I saw from Walton last year. It's kind of a shame they have great potential but I don't think they are given the game plan to win. I agree though great win for Carroll!!!
