The Gallatin County Lady Wildcats hung on and were only down by 6 at the half. Foul trouble got Gallatin County in a hole that they could not get out of.

Look out for Walton's Kelli Dixon. I do not remember her from last year, but Coach Rosen said that she played JV all last year. She will be a surprise. She makes up the inside presence for the Lady Bearcats.

 

Walton played without Nagessi and Gleason who are out with injury.

 

Gallatin's team is made up of mostly freshmen, no seniors. You heard it here first. Watch Alex Morris. She is just a freshman, but can hit the three. Gallatin has their work cut out for them, but the benefits of the next few years may make them a strong contender in the next couple of years.

The game was sloppy at the start but when both teams settled down, the game got better. Walton tried to press and trap again but it didn't work. Now, when Walton played CC, they came back to the press after the half and lost, but this time, they went to a zone at the start of the second half, and they pulled away. This game was a BIG win for WV. They needed this win to get on the right track.

 

Sargent had a big game tonight and Dixion was just prefect tonight down in the post. Heeger controlled the ball and was good with Gallatin's pressure. Made some great passes. Hargett had a below average night, but the other girls step'd up really big! Good win WV.

If Gallatin would have stayed out of foul trouble it might have been different. But thats the way the cookie crumbles!!!! Very impressed by the play of the younger girls of Gallatin. Should be interesting the next couple of years. Congrats on the win WV.

Kelly Dixon was huge in this game for Walton. Should be a starter the rest of the year. I saw her in AAU this past year she can flat out play. Walton is going to have to learn to get her the rock!! I like Morris from Gallatin she is a good ball handler and can shoot well. One observation about Walton is they look like they have more weapons this year. They shouldn't have to depend on #11 for their scoring.
