Not suprised that Cheeseman would go to Ryle with her Dad. Being together with family maybe more important than varsity playing time as a freshman to some. Father and daughter wouldn't see much of each other if they were with different programs.

Sounds like Coach Fowler is trying to put together a quality staff and program. Matt Blackburn will also be helping out. It's a shame that some of the boys were thinking about not playing just because Coach Isabel was not hired initially, but I'm glad that they have decided to stick with it now.

According to some of the players, Coach Fowler did meet some of them at the school on Friday. He also met with the 8th graders at the middle school.

He (Coach Fowler) did attend a boosters meeting and several of the players were there to meet him. He then went over to the baseball game and met a few of the players there too. I imagine that he is busy with his responsibilities at Shelby Co for now. I think he is an assistant baseball coach there.

Don't high schools have feeder schools? If you don't go to the high school that your middle school is a feeder to then I guess it would be considered a transfer, sot of.

Congratulations to Michael. He will be missed. Any ideas about where he will go to college?

I think Parker Stansberry is one of the top 8th grade players in NKY. (He has a late birthday and was never held back). I believe he will be going to Dixie.

Capital View Park. It is off the East- West Connector. Not sure of the road #. You can see some fields from the road and the baseball field is way in the back.

One thing in Owen County's favor is a great Little League Football Program. They have been very successful competing with all of the neighboring counties the past several years. I think we also have some great talent in place that just needs to be cultivated and motivated. Nothing a good coach can't handle. Good luck coach, we are excited at Owen. Well that is all in the past now. It is time for Owen Co football to move on and support Coach Fowler, the assistants,(who ever they are) and the players.

Anyone know what he teaches? I hope that he can come and meet the boys soon.

Whether it was a good idea or not to have Gilley on the committee, anyone who knows the principal should not question her loyalty to her students or the community. Is it common practice to have outsiders on hiring committees?

The boys in Owen Co are very excited about the possibility of having Hilton as a coach because of the way he handles himself and treats them as a basketball and baseball official. I don't know Bruce Jones. Can someone tell me where he is now? What does he teach? About how old is he?

Owen County 7, Henry Co 5 Owen was down 5 to 0 and came back for the win. Ogden pitched the entire game and did a great job.

From what I have seen of Hilton reffing and umping, he is a nice guy who has a good rapport with players and coaches. Hopefully the powers that be will give him a serious look.

If I have a child who is gifted in math I expect his school to challenge him, if I have a child who is gifted in sports I also want him challenged and if that means playing him with older kids that is what should happen.

I totally agree LMB. Just watch a bunch of little boys free shooting. 90% of the shots they take are from behind the arc and most are shooting from the hip or with 2 hands.

They also had a pretty decent middle school team last year.

Were these new WV coaches hired as teachers also?
