I think this is the last of the current Louisville/Northern Kentucky jobs that is still open. Is there any news about a coach? Seems like this has been going on a while.

Probably will go on much longer. It is obvious Owen County don't focus much on their Football kids. Look how the kids have been done in the past couple years. They go through coaches like Kleenex..They should have already hired a coach. It is just discouraging for the kids that do play football. It looks like no one cares about the program.

They had enough time to get somebody in by spring practice, but for some reason did not. I wonder if they have given a reason for taking so long? If I was a player, parent, community member, or assistant coach I would want to know if they will ever get a head coach.

I just feel sorry for high school programs and their players when administration does not support athletics in general. So before you speak you might want to check your facts because I do not like it when people post incorrect things, especially about me. Really I don't think many people are interested in coaching there anyway I would venture to say that Owen is one of the worst jobs in the state.

Im sure they have some applicants. Just looks as if the administration is just dragging their feet. Seems as if that happens quiet often over in Owen County. Looks like they would keep their kids in mind.

Owen County puts alot into their youth football programs and has had some very successful teams. The current situation at the high school level is very discouraging to parents and players. It is my understanding that with budget cuts teachers are actually being let go so that makes it even harder to hire a coach.

Their youth football is pretty good. Parents really get behind those kids. It is a shame that their high school team has to be put on the back burner. Wonder if they will be able to compete in any passing leagues. Isn't that something the head coaches take care of? From what I understand they had their spring football thanks to the stepping up of their assistants. Has anyone heard of who would like the job over there? They should have a pretty good bunch of seniors in the upcoming season. This will be three different coaches in the last three years for them. That group was never given a chance. From what I hear they are the best group that has came through in a while. Not only talent wise, but all around good kids.

If it is indeed true that Owen Co. did not hire a coach before spring practice, that is SAD! It sounds to me the administration should be thankful to the assistants that stepped up and held spring practice. I hope for the kids sake that they get a quality head coach in there soon. Im sure Owen Co. is not one of the worst positions in the state. If their youth teams are that great it seems to me the next coach has something nice to look forward too.

They also had a pretty decent middle school team last year.

Not really heard much about their Middle School program. I am also 99% sure that there was no coach hired before Spring practice. Someone said they were waiting on teaching positions. Get real,hire a coach....
