Would like to be more polite but they are awful. I know they lost 9 seniors and returned 25 total points from last years team.

He went to the prep schools in NJ and WV last year, then came back to Bryan Station -- I think in January. I saw in various newspaper reports they thought he might be able to gain eligibility in January. Totally a guess, but I bet that would coincide with him being back at Bryan Station for a year since the transfer rule forces you to sit out a year without a legitimate transfer -- changes of address and logical reason. Of course, he also went to a different WV school earlier this year for a very short period of time because that school was found to be a fraud. Not sure how they plays in.

It said above Jones had 12 points and 5 rebounds. When you say he has to play, what do you mean? Appears he played significant minutes in this one.

He is a freshman. Competely different player. He plays the post. He started against Scott County in a scrimmage and did a good job. Looks like he has a bright future.

Scott County did open gyms 5 days a week in the pre-season and Portwood got burned out -- or that was the excuse he gave. I was shocked as well and hope to see him back on the court next year. He is currently playing in the local youth league, which is a total waste of his talents in my opinion. But, it is what it is. He would have played significant minutes for Scott County this year, but if you don't have your heart in it then it's better he's not there.

Hundley had enough offensive sets last year that didn't involve Johnson as the only option that I doubt he has to change much, just run them more. Johnson was so good last year and such a mismatch, Hundley only had to run basic stuff that involved getting the ball to Johnson.

Other 2 starters in scrimmages have been Gilbert and Harris. Developing depth will be key for Scott County as the season progresses. I think Ballard will be tough to beat in this one, but Scott County is a team that can do it. Scott County isn't ducking anyone this year -- their 3rd game is against Trinity.

I believe only one -- Josh Walls. He didn't play last year, but was with the team this past summer and will see time off the bench. There are a couple of others who are playing football, but won't have an effect at the varsity level. Scott County did lose 2 kids from last year that would have helped this year. Christen Cunningham transferred to Henry Clay and Dylan Portwood decided not to play basketball this year.

Neither team belongs in Top 25. Top teams in 10th are not top 25 material at this point.

That event in December might have to move as well.

New rule put in this past summer. Some AAU events had to be moved off campus or canceled.

You are correct. Only two scrimmages allowed.

I thought Dishman was at Southwestern? I know je was in middle school system at Somerset. Any insight on why the switch?

When Tanner Shotwell transferred back to Scott County from LCA a few years ago, he was ruled ineligible and had to sit out a year. Same thing with Darryl Hicks to Trinity. No change of address. Let's not make a blanket statement that some schools get special treatment. I am sure this case is a mere formality to get him ruled eligible. If the paperwork was incorrect or insufficient, don't blame the KHSAA. Blame those who turned in the paperwork. Let's be honest about the entire transfer situation. Until there is a rule that simply states no matter the circumstance a kid has to sit out a year, every year kids will move schools. And, people will assume there must be something up with the situation. It's not a perfect system and never will be.

There are a bunch of good players in the 11th and they are spread out among several teams, which will make for a fun season.

Just heard Quan Taylor has transferred to Jefferstown. If true then I wouldn't have Masison Central as the favorite. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

Told you my list forgot some kids. It is tough to remember them all, but I can't believe I forgot Greenwell. I saw him play many times last year and he does do the dirty work and is definitely the No. 2 option for Woodford County and has been key for the team for the last 2 years. It will interesting to see if he can step into lead role until Johnson comes back and lead Woodford against their upgraded schedule that was put together I'm sure to showcase Johnson.

Tyler Black out until mid-January. He tore ankle ligaments and had to have surgery.

There are very few people who can guard him if you get in him ... He's too quick. And a team like Scott co, that's their style. Give him a couple of steps and you have a chance.

Agreed. He is definitely one I left out. Ryan has the ability to change games on defense more than offense. Of course, I am sure he isn't the only one. :-)

Hawkins is good, but Derek Willis and Darryl Hicks are definitely better prospects.

I think the region is WIDE open. If Henry Clay's young kids step up (which I do expect), they will be a tough out. And, if Beckham becomes eligibile at Bryan Station prior to the district, they will make a first-round matchup of them vs. Scott County or Henry Clay one of the best first-round district games in the state. Having said that, based on last year's finish, I think you have to install as Madison Central as the favorite. As far as players, any list in the 11th that doesn't include Isaiah Ivey from Scott County is missing the boat. Although I am sure people can name 10 players in the region to make the same case, such as Green and Grundy. By the way, I don't think Green and Grundy are there yet to be ranked on the high school level. Will they be there by the end of the year? Quite possibly, but they haven't done enough yet on the high school level (great on the AAU scene) to warrant a top 10 ranking yet.
