I bet you are correct. Even though I believe some people in Russell thinks that they are just from "Russell". Good luck to both teams and I pray no one gets hurt this Friday night.

This was done in Portsmouth - Grant and McKinley was combined long before their new school was built and they played as the Portsmouth Middle School Trojans - by the time the new building was built the students didn't know anything about the Generals and the Spartans.

Unfortunately, they can't split the school now, from what I know the kids get along and they don't care after a few weeks at the high school. It seems to be the parents on both sides of the county. If they could have set up one middle school instead of 2, this could have saved a lot of headaches.

Russell is in Greenup County, Rose Hill is in Ashland in Boyd County

I can say for a fact that some of the parents are doing everything possible to help with the good attitude of the boys. Do you know what has been going on at GCHS this entire year, every week a special present is given to honor the seniors in their locker(inside so that it isn't taken the wrong way, these have been bought by the senior moms), everyboy has their locker "decorated" the same way and right now, it is hard to put anything else on them. The boys are given a goodie bag every week, posters are put up everywhere and tonite the seniors were treated to a special dinner at a former coaches house, a power point presentation was made in their honor, special tee-shirts were given out, they bought their mothers special pins to wear tomorrow night at their last game in their "house". It is very hard to keep attitude up but it doesn't help when the same old stuff is brought up about "which side of the county" you are from. Maybe, they made a mistake in the 70's and made all these large county schools but what is done is done and now we have to go on. I love the people in Greenup County and yes that does include Raceland and Russell(only on certain nights) and these boys are our future - let's let them play and have fun their senior year. I certainly don't want to relive my teenage years through my boys. I love the Musketeers and I am a Proud MM(Musketeer Mom).:dancingpa

Yes, I heard last night that 2 freshman quit the team.

I believe the "former" ad set the schedule - maybe wrong. Last game is at Mason and that will be their senior night. The parents and kids are behind and they believe in these boys no matter what the record. I Love My Musketeers - Go GCHS

I will be there cheering them on and watching my senior son at his Senior Game.

I want my Musketeers to win but I'm also realistic - we have one man out for the rest of the season - Brian Grayson has 3 broken ribs - and this is really gonna hurt us. I just hope for no injuries on both sides.
