Raceland keeps rolling.

I guess Raceland wasn't a very good homecoming date. My source at the game tells me 2 touchdowns for the defense tonight! Sounds like they opened up a case of Orange Crush!

Congrats to the Rams! I figured it would be a fairly easy game for Raceland, but the margin does surprise me a little bit.

Did not attend this one but sounds like the Rams showed up and got the job done tonight with no problem. Congrats on the win guys. Any stats? Injury report?

Raceland played a decent game tonight. Two defensive scores, Big Robbie Logan picked up a blocked punt and ran in for a score from about 40 yrds out, and Tyler Boyles picked off a pass and returned it for a score.

 

The DC Express rolled through town very well. I don't know for sure with one had more yrds but Denton and Carver did a great job on the ground.

 

As I said the Raceland OL/DL was the difference in this game. I called them out and they rose to the occasion. The OL/DL were dominate. Robbie Logan had three sacks I believe, all in the first half. And most of Greenup County's rushing yardage was do to Raceland DL over penetrating and over pursuing. They were in the backfield all night. The OL/DL made a bid difference in this game.

 

Hats off to Robbie Logan, Cody Grand, Cody Chinn, Kory Baldridge, Rocky Jobe, and Sabastian Johannson, the Raceland OL/DL. They did a great job, and to be successful in this game, you have to have a great line.

 

Todd Selvage had a good game offensively and defensively. I believe he had one pick, and three receptions for two scores.

 

Cody Kelly (AKA the "Cupcake") had some nice runs and a very good defensive night. Cody as always is a workhorse and played good hard nosed football.

 

Greenup County had some success with the Power I. They did have some bright spots and I wish them good luck in the rest of their season and hope they are able to have another good playoff run this year.

This result was pretty much as expected. I thought Greenup might put up a better fight, but hey, Raceland appears to be dominant this year. Congratulations Rams! Your undefeated season rolls on.

Great post Ram! The line was dominant tonight. They've been great this year. They did a great job at LCA last week stopping Hayden and holding him to less than 50 rushing yards (he had 295 yards in tonight's loss to Corbin). They are big and strong and have great linebackers playing behind them. Carver laid the smack on Greenup's QB tonight in the first half. Yowsers! They have a hard-hitting defense and it all starts on the line!

Congratulations Rams! Winning on the road is always a challenge and is characteristic of a quality team. This makes 4 straight against Greenup Co…keep up the good work, stay focused and play hungry.

I saw this one coming in the worst way. I remember back in the day when Raceland couldn't touch GC, WOW things sure have changed!

Congrats to the Rams on the big win over a rival GC tonight. Raceland had the defense score, three td passes by T. Boyles along with an int. return for a td by Boyles. Raceland also had two td's called back on penalties I believe.

Rams, enjoy this one this weekend and starting Monday start getting focused on Paris. As I have said every week, you are not good enough to overlook anyone. "Fear no one but Respect all".

( I am glad to finaly be able to get on here (bgp), was inable to log on to the site all evening. I got a pm and was able to connect through it, still couldn't get the site to come up in the normal way??.. Friday night football and I couldn't log on BGP!! It was terrible nght! ):eek:

If I heard the radio station 107.5 right Greenup County ran twice as many plays it was something like 64 to 32. Greenup had a total of 258yards I think that was what he said and Raceland had some where in the neighborhood of 340 something. Robby Logan looked like he was on a mission tonight and the rest of the defense was the supporting cast. Great game from the defense just a few things to work on but over all good game.

According to the morning paper the stats were:

 

First downs: Raceland-11, GC-21

 

Rushes/yds: Raceland 22/137, GC 39/145

 

Passing: Raceland 4-7-0, GC 19-29-2

 

Passing yds: Raceland 141, GC 168

 

Penalties/yds: Raceland 6/50, GC 4/55

 

 

Looks like GC racked up decent stats, but didn't get any points out of it.

The score of this game was not any indication of how it was played. GC's game plan was to control the ball and they did just that. They moved the ball all night but couldn't get anything going once they were in the Red Zone. The Rams defense bent but never broke and they made the big plays when they had to. GC shot themselves in the foot with their own mistakes but I think the Rams physical defensive play had a lot to do with that.

 

Raceland got another great effort by the DC Express and the passing game kept the GC defense guessing. Rams had two TD's called back and made some mistakes that you shouldn't be making this time of the year but the good thing is that those mistakes can be corrected and I'm sure the coaching staff will see that gets fixed.

The scary thing is that this was not one of Raceland's best games and they still won by 34.

For a variety of reasons, Raceland is my new favorite 1A team and I will be pulling hard for you guys to bring home the hardware come December.
