  1. Maybe so, but they did beat Raceland and they are undefeated. I get it's a hard balance to strike but Dayton has lost to several teams with so-so records and they have a losing record themselves. I just can't justify them in the top 10 until I see some more. An undefeated team with a bad schedule jumps a team with a losing record and no wins to hang their hat on, just my opinion. And it doesn't really matter if Dayton belongs in the top 10 they will prove it over the next several weeks and they will have a shot to reach the status as a top 10 top 5 team by the end of the season. It matters where you finish not where you our in September and October.
  2. Dayton can get to the top ten, but they have to get some wins to get there. Sure in the end the losses early my propel them far in November, but we aren't in November. Rankings are a what have you done system, and to this point Dayton hasn't earned a spot. Win Friday they may be deserving of the 10 spot, and when we get in the 3rd week of the playoffs then they may really have a chance to cement their spot, but as of today they haven't earned a spot in the top 10 over the current ranked teams. I can't justify ranking a 3-5 team with no signature wins.
  3. I've seen several teams on this list play, who would you replace them with besides Bellevue? Everyone elseon this list has a winning record and for the most part all have at least one signature win. If they win Friday, maybe they deserve ten spot, b ut they need a win Friday before they can really lay any claim at a spot in the top ten.
  4. The three teams Dayton has beaten have a combined record of 7-17. Going 3-5 with wins against mediocore teams and losses to some average at best teams won't get you much if any respect.
  5. Williamsburg is closer to the top 5 than anyone not in the top 10. They haven't played as tough of a schedule and that ultimately may be their downfall, but they manhandled a harlan team that took LCA to the wire, and played Hazard close for a majority of the game.
  6. Pikeville shouldn't be on this list at all, this is the worst Pikeville team in a few decades.
  7. Hazard is not as good as they were last year, they lost a bunch. They will still be very good by the end of the year, but if last years team couldn't beat Somerset this years team definitely won't.
  8. Somerset that good this year, Southwestern that bad, or somewhere in between?
  9. I enjoy rooting for Bracken County from afar. When I was in high school we did a correspondence deal with a class from Bracken so I have a little place in my heart for them.
  10. Harlan and Williamsburg are both better than these polls are showing. They will both give Hazard tough games in the playoffs this year.
  11. Buckhorn won the first meeting a few weeks ago, no reason they can't win the second time around. I don't think it will be quite the home court advantage most would think. Buckhorn fans have been traveling extremely well this postseason, and with this being their 3rd game on that floor it won 't be a completely new experience playing there for them.
  12. I would be in favor of teams getting 3 free throws in the final minute of a game if you are in the double bonus. I hate when teams do this, I know it's strategy but the huge shots for the tie or the win are part of what make basketball fun.
  13. They jumped up 19-4 to start the game and judging by the final score I guess they never looked back.
  14. Ya things like that don't happen for school's Buckhorn's size very often. It's not often you have 6 seniors that all contribute for the most part.
  15. I expected Letcher to win this one as well. Kind of a let down for them losing the district then in the first round of the region.
  16. Well it's good to win the game your flat in. If they can play liek they did in the district tournament in the next two games I think they will win the region.
  17. A lot closer than I expected.
  18. It definitely benefited Buckhorn, Perry's players seemed confused on offense most of the game to me. The box and 1 really gave them fits. I would imagine Buckhorn had 4 or 5 more turnovers in the game than Perry, but Perry did missed a lot more shots.
  19. This was one of the best high schools games I've ever seen. I can somewhat brag as well that my wife's little cousin hit the winning shot with about 26 seconds left. It is a shame both of these teams aren't in the region though, that's the sad part about districts that seed on the draw.
  20. Don't those jobs have to be posted for a minimum of 30 days?
