Voice of Reason
I am not sure why Beechwood should have moved ahead of Hazard. But is all will work itself out very soon.

Williamsburg is closer to the top 5 than anyone not in the top 10. They haven't played as tough of a schedule and that ultimately may be their downfall, but they manhandled a harlan team that took LCA to the wire, and played Hazard close for a majority of the game. MHSCardinal
IMO: 1) Mayfield.. Have been consistently strong all year long and has beaten several larger class ranked teams, Murray, Tilghman, Graves Co.. 2) Frankfort.. The LCA win wasn't that surprising, but, the way in which they did it, convinced me they're a very strong team.. 3) Fairview.. Finally played a good team this week and proved they belong amongst the elite 1A teams.. 4) Hazard.. Record isn't great, but, a brutal schedule and very competitive against it.. 5) Williamsburg.. Explosive, high scoring team. Only loss to a very good Tn small school, by 3.. 6) Beechwood.. Last weeks 1st half against an average 1a team didn't do anything to convince me they should move ahead of the ones 1-5.. 7) Raceland.. Last weeks loss dropped them a little, but, still a very, very good 1A team.. 8) Russellville.. Very speedy team that's been a little up and down, but, when they're up, they're a pretty solid team.. 9) KCD.. If not for 1 bad early season loss, this team may be pushing the Top 5, but, hard to really know how good they are due to weak schedule.. 10) Bellevue.. Not really anyone else I can think of that deserves to be here, so, they're as good as any, I suppose..
Geek61
I agree with most that there is no Way Beechwood should have moved up. While I think Dayton is better than most think, a top 4 or 5 team should have never have been caught off-guard. I also feel like Dayton deserves to be in there, but they will all be figured out on Friday. If they are healthy, I believe they will beat Bellevue and easily win in the first-round playoffs. Now that would be the upset of the century - even if Beechwood has 11 players, including 6 starters out like they did versus Dayton.

The three teams Dayton has beaten have a combined record of 7-17. Going 3-5 with wins against mediocore teams and losses to some average at best teams won't get you much if any respect. I didnt' say they were a top 5 team. I said they deserve to be in the Top 10 Class A. I have also defended Bellevue, but after seeing Dayton come out the first quarter, I really think they will beat Bellevue. I could be wrong. We'll just have to see on Friday. I've seen several teams on this list play, who would you replace them with besides Bellevue? Everyone elseon this list has a winning record and for the most part all have at least one signature win. If they win Friday, maybe they deserve ten spot, b ut they need a win Friday before they can really lay any claim at a spot in the top ten.
