  1. Covington Catholic is very capable of winning. There is a reason they are where they are. There is a reason they are undefeated. Let’s make no mistake about it. These teams belong here. Boyle County will have their hands full. Nothing will be given to them. This state championship will be earned whether it be BC or CC. Respectfully, I think Boyle County is the better team. Good luck to both teams!
  2. I really expect this game to be close. These are two of the better teams in the state. Both are undefeated. Both are battle tested. Both are deserving. I’ll take Boyle County by 10+.
  3. Exactly. I too, would not be surprised to see a running clock. And I’m glad you mentioned the defense. They have progressed throughout the season. I thought the secondary was questionable at one point but they seem to have fixed the issues.
  4. The more I’ve sat and thought about this game, I can’t imagine Boyle County losing. In fact, I’m taking Boyle County by 21+.
  5. Boyle County is going to be locked and loaded. This is a state semi final matchup with an undefeated opponent. The Corbin game was quite possibly the biggest game of the year but for the Rebels now, there is no bigger game than the one on Friday because it’s win or go home. Coach Haddix will have these guys ready!
  6. Congratulations to both teams. I was at the game and thought both crowds were very classy. It was a packed house! Corbin definitely passed the eye test and had opportunities to win the game. Then again, I think Boyle County had opportunities to extend the lead. The going for it on 4th and 2 at the goal I didn’t like. The Rebels had an a chip shot to go up two scores late in the 4th quarter. It nearly came back to bite them but it didn’t. Excellent overall game from a fan perspective!
  7. If they didn’t have Tavy they lose the game. 🤦🏻‍♂️
  8. Huge congratulations to Hart County! This is huge.
  9. It’ll be hard for me to go against the Rebels. Corbin is an excellent team that has just enough fire power on offense and enough grit on defense to make this a game. I think the Rebels have just a little more team speed and that’ll likely be the difference. How big of a difference it to be determined.
  10. I’ll be pulling for the Rockets but I can’t see them beating Lexington Catholic. I look for the Knights to advance to the state semis!
  11. Running clock for sure. Congratulations to McCracken County on making it this far!
  12. Go Raiders! The game against Union County is shaping up to be a good one.
  13. 36-0 in the first quarter. Rest is history. Now it’s time for the real playoffs!
  14. In the thread of tracking the unbeatens I noticed that Hart County is undefeated. Admittedly, I went down a rabbit hole and started to dissect their schedule. They are 10-0 but their overall body of work surprised me. This is a Class 3A program. They have beaten some really good teams en route to this undefeated season. Teams like Campbellsville, Glasgow, and Franklin-Simpson. They even defeated some decent teams like Green County and Adair County. A program that I’m not too familiar with I began to look at their previous seasons. This is a program that has seen a lot of ups and downs over the years, mostly downs. To be 2nd in RPI and undefeated is a HUGE accomplishment going into the playoffs for any program but even more so for this program. Obviously we have seen teams in the past have undefeated seasons not amount much in the post season due to the lack of strength of schedule. So all of that brings me to the question, how good is Hart County? Are they a real contender?
  15. I agree. If Boyle County is the team we think they are then they will be right where we think they will be.
  16. This game concerned me. But then for Boyle County to beat FD at FD in that fashion, yes! They are definitely #1.
