  1. All those things that you mention about private school parents we have in Bell. Mind you we don't all have the money that you speak of ....but the time to spend in their school and love for our children we have. Interest in their education we have. Interest in their athletics, we have. We have all those things here. If it weren't for some of the parents it would be hard. With that said we are still at an disadvantage with the number of athletes private puts on the field through the operating policies for private schools. So I don't buy the time and dedication of parents as the sole reason for success.
  2. I'm sure I would consider that. I have looked at Tennesse and have no problem with what they do. There are private schools in the same division as public. Let me save all of you some time......Don't say go to TN. if you don't like it here. If I could afford that, I may just .......no I can't say that either...hahahah
  3. Right now I think so. But if you come up with a great hire and things go better than most outside of the county think in the transition, then maybe not. Kid vs Kid ,no ...you will have just as many as they will. That's not always all you need.
  4. I agree, that I don't have all the facts about admissions. However, there are a few things that really stand out when I look at the two institutions. We can all agree to disagree on some things.
  5. I think he was refering to the first game as the Hazard game. It ws first on the list above.
  6. I know.....just an incentive.....sure you don't want to bite. Lexington would be yours and LCA. Louisville would let X & T fight it out.
  7. I agree this will be very difficult. Look at LCA in just a few short years they are in the state. I don't see why they can not play with the larger ones in just a few more years. Split and let the privates recruit not only students but athletes. But what is happening now is tilted way to much.
  8. Exactly! I don't think they want the investigation team digging any farther. By this I mean to try and prove this as recruiting. Which would be very hard to do. Would be a very big blow to the sleeping giant.
  9. Also heard they will be playing Walt Verona (?) first year team from northern Ky. Is that true?
  10. What makes us different from the state of Tn. They do it quite well. My aguement is the same as the one presented to the KHSAA.
  11. Look at the vote, see who does and who don't. My point being the overwhelming majority voted to split.
  12. I do not know of any public school disrict in this state that offers need base financial aid. I don't believe they ever will. So when folks talk, that it is of the districts own choice, this is how they operate and where we differ and it will not be changed. So we want to split from those that do, and we are not allowed to do so. I believe that the next time this is truely tested that publics need to go at this from that stand point. We want to form our own division. We don't want to kick you out of the existing one. It bothers me when people say you (publics) need to change what you are doing, that it is your own choice to do that. Financially it is impossible to do that with the number of publics out there. We want to split, why does that bother you so much?
  13. In Tn. you would be in your own class with other private schools that offer financial aid. Take a look at their set up.
  14. Looks good. You may have hit on something. We have 6 now anyway.
  15. What does that have to do with anything. I can't get a scholarship for tuition in a public school. So don't go there.
  16. What I gather is that someone sought out minority athletes and gave them scholarships. Still the school and coach Rains does not agree that they should not recieve this, but will comply. This is the mind set of most in the private sector. I don't know if the coach had anything to do with this and will not accuse him. However, someone in the system wanted to to get the athletes they needed and was doing it. Parents are not the scapegoat here, it was the administration or who ever was in charge of this department. How many of the minority students were not athletes?
  17. Call it what you want, an athlete that recieves a scholarship to attend a private school.
  18. Example:I remember a vote that they also ignored not so long ago. My gripe is that publics have to play against privates when it is this easy to do these type things, then when it happens we just have to live with it. And this doen't happen in the public school. NO SCHOLARSHIPS.......
  19. MY problem with the KHSAA doesn't stop with the penalties. It also stems to their leadership and representation of its members.
  20. If it is their turn to host and the community and school wants to do that, then they have every right. I don't care if it holds 1,000. Who said that I have the largest gym, so I get it every year. Does Mason have any away games? And what makes people think that they can see every sporting event? If that were the case I would never miss a game in Neyland or Rupp. I can't believe that it has gone on this long without a move. Shame on the other schools. As a player what a great thing to play the regional tournament at home.
