  1. Let's be very clear. There is no system that will eliminate blowouts. That should not even be a factor considered in this discussion. Blowouts happen in every state and every playoff system.
  2. I have always felt 5 classes is the right number for Kentucky. Keep the large schools at 32, divide the other 4 classes equally.
  3. There are 73 players listed on Christian County's official varsity roster.
  4. Is there anyone out there outside of KHSAA leadership that is happy with RPI as the state rankings tool?
  5. This Beechwood freshman team has continued to improve game by game. They played Ryle in the preseason and it looked like a mismatch in favor of Ryle. The Tigers have speed and depth at the skill positions. QB is skilled and improving. The team and coaches have overcome injury challenges at the line of scrimmage. I don't know if they can improve enough in these next two games to upset Highlands in the championship game, but I would not count them out.
  6. Mayfield's next two district opponents each have 2 wins. LCA plays Danville then faces a team with 2 wins. O Cath has their open week this week then their last district opponent has 5 wins but that team's OWP is 0.29. Danville will likely break even in RPI this week with the expected loss to LCA, then has their open week and faces a 0 win 1A school in their last game. All the top 5 are going to lose points in their district games. I still think it is going to come down to the last week of the season with Beechwood and LCA gaining points if they win over their 6A opponents.
  7. Every one of the top teams lost points this week except Danville. Danville had a slight increase with their win over WEB Dubois. However, Beechwood lost more points than the teams behind them. The OOWP is the category hurting Beechwood.
  8. This is one of the most interesting matchups in the state this week. If we look at SOS, then KCD is a 2 TD favorite. But Bethlehem has won big despite facing a weaker schedule. The margin of victory somewhat negates the weaker SOS factor. I see KCD getting the win but it should be a battle.
  9. The undefeated and 2A top ranked Beechwood Tigers host the Gallatin County Wildcats in Ft. Mitchell, kickoff at 7:30. The Tigers are rolling. The multi faceted and talented offense can score from anywhere on the field at any time. Gallatin County is struggling through year one under their new head coach and are looking for their first win of the season.
  10. Game of the year for both these teams. NCC needs this win as much as Dayton does. It has more historical importance for Dayton, but for this year NCC may need this win more than Dayton.
  11. I think this is a very legit issue for the top tier schools. Will those 15-20 top tier schools be able to fill their schedule? If they are able to fill their schedule and it is going to be more top quality opponents that become losses, RPI is going to kill them if RPI is what is used for the playoff brackets. Every loss is a blow to RPI even if it is against a top quality team..
  12. The private school multiplier is ridiculous. Why? What problem does it solve? The district play question is tougher. I would need to see a proposal for another option.
  13. Danville is doing exactly what they need to do. They are not ready for Boyle. They need at least two more years to even start to think about that. Beef up the schedule a little. I would look for a good big school that will be a tough game to win. Yes, you very well might take a loss but your team will be better for it. Maybe also add in a 50/50 big school opponent. Need to play those games to find your weaknesses. They will get exposed against higher level opponents.
  14. Long run by St. Henry's Braden Hughes cot and tackled by owen job for beachwood, inside the tin. Then, the tigers defense makes the goal line stand. Final Beechwood 62 St. Henry 0
