1999 was the last time, I think we lost in the finals to Boone actually.

 

Lloyd lost to Boone County 55-50 at Conner in 1999 in the 1st Round of Region play. Boone last went to the Sweet 16 in 1996, so maybe it was that year. I know nothing definitive before 1997 since that is as far back as KHSAAs schedules go.

Does anyone know if Bray's age? Just curious.

Great win for the Juggs and Coach Key, great turnout. On the topic of the Bray kid I've seen a lot of D1 comments after after watching the kid there is no way he can play D1. IMO D3 or JUCO at best. He has athletic ability out the rear end, but that only gets you so far. He has little to no low post game and his ball handling skills are shakey. He has a decent jump shot if he is left open, but I am curious to see if he can put the ball on the floor and knock down jump contested jump shots, Towles never came out on him. He has been a good high school player by relying on his athletic ability, but it would be interesting to see how he would do when matched up with a player with equal athletic ability.By no means am I trying to bash the kid, just making an honest opinion.

On another note, I would love to see Bray and current state record holder Keith Schuler (St. Henry c/o 99) have a dunk contest, two of the best leapers in NKY I have ever seen.

Congrats to Lloyd, Bray had a great game and yes he had to be checked multiple times my 13 year old called him a drama queen. How many times can you be injured and sprinting in seconds please. As far the bluebirds not enough passion nobody wants to step up and hoops in Ft Thomas has to get better. Not enough kids putting the time in during the off season.

I don't agree with some of your specific comments but if Bray has any shot at D1 athletics it will be in track. If he really wants to play D1 basketball, I believe you are right that the JUCO path is what he would need to take.

Not at all. I just think he looks like he is atleast 18 yrs old and wonder why he was nowhere to be found last season in the 9th Region. The more mature you are the more aggressive and confident you play. He obviously showed that last night.

I should have been more specific about the D1, yes D1 for track, D1 basketball no. I wonder how he does academically?

 

I think Schueller's record is 7'2? He went to Georgia Tech on a track scholarship.
