afi100guy
Brossart took their 5th TO with 24 secs left. The 6th was with 8 secs.

bigdogs
The last shot before the T was the shot that Justin Saunders took. He was hammered and it was a foul. but not called. If the foul was called correctly, it would have been a game changer. It will be interesting to see how many fouls were called against the Mustangs and how many fouls against the Camels. Does anyone have any stats regarding the fouls?

Does anyone have any stats regarding the fouls? Did you not see the over the back calls against #45 from Brossart? Oh that is right, there were none even though he was all over the CCHS kids. The game was evenly called. There was a call against McGovney when he got shoved which I think was his 3rd foul of the night. I thought the call you are talking about could have been called a foul but it wasn't but that is not a game changer.
Xs and Os
Tough, tough loss for the Mustangs tonight. While the 6th timeout will be the focus of conversation, the game might well have been lost at that point. To set the record straight Campbell County took a two point lead with 24.4 seconds to play in the game on a second free-throw by Corey Holbrook. The Mustangs came down on their final possession and were misaligned for whatever it was that we were trying to do. Coach Code called the time-out to try to set up a play that would win or tie the game with 8.3 seconds to go. It's too bad we will never know how that would have played out but the T eliminated that possibility. Coach Code has come out and said that he assumes responsibility for the miscue. Normally, when a team is out of time-outs an official as a courtesy will walk over to the huddle during the final time out and inform the group that they are out of TOs - that obviously didn't happen. With that being said, we have four assistants on the bench, one of which should have informed Mike that we were out. They are in agreement. On the broadcast we commented that it seemed strange that we called our final TO with 24.4 seconds to go to ice a shooter. The bottom line is that Brossart led 22-10 late in the first half, but allowed the Camels to cut the lead to 24-18 at intermission. We also led 34-29 after three periods, but then proceeded to score only 6 points in the fourth quarter (16 for the half). Meanwhile, Campbell County kept driving and drawing fouls, of which they hit 10 of 15free-throws in the fourth quarter. The only other Camel scoring done was a huge 3 by McGovney and one by Corey Holbrook. The Mustangs did not score a point in the final 2:56 of the game. Camel took their first lead since 6-4 at the :58.6 mark of the game. We pure and simply failed to finish it. For the second time this year, and the fourth time in the past two years, the Camels find a way to win, and the Mustangs fail to finish. While we feel a bit snake-bit with them right now, you have to make your own breaks. Congrats to the Camels and best of luck vs Scott on Friday night and next week in the Regionals. Nice recap of the last minutes of game. Coach Code did the right thing in taking responsibility for the time out. I find it hard to believe that Camel Staff and fans knew there were no more time outs and no one on bench or scorekeeper knew as well as 1 of the refs not telling the staff. bigdogs
Disagree. The McGovney block on Saunders was clean. All ball. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, however, from our viewpoint it was not all ball and was a foul.

I don't have a horse in the battle, but he was hammered I was sitting down on that end where the play happened.
letabrotherspeak
The assistants for Brossart should take the blame in my opinion. On a regular basis you will see an assistant confer with the scorers table asking about how many timeouts one has, when one is taken by a team. Often times they will check to see how many the other team has, especially late. Total breakdown in coaching. Brossart seemingly started the year playing pretty well but seemingly lost their mojo the last quarter of the season.
american
Great atmosphere at the game tonight!!! Once again CCHS student section was first class!!! Great game by both teams. What a great job of defense in the second half for the Camels! Dalton Griffin did a great job holding Jennings to "0" points!! Big plays by McGovney and Holbrook down the stretch!! Good luck against Scott!!!!!
dd734
Officiating wasn't the greatest from either side. JMO................... I don't believe you can put blame anywhere. The Camels out played the Mustangs in the second half. You can say the block at the end of the game was a foul if you like, but how about the basket prior to that. McGovney got shoved in the back, and ended up five feet out of bounds. The officials were letting them play. Great game, the Camels came out on top in this one. The Camels did have a 2 point lead when the 6th time out was called. So to say the Mustangs would have scored is just a guess. Hard fought game by both teams. Camels came out on top! Congratulations to the Camels on the win, and to the Mustangs on a great season.
kings102876
Really? Hammered is a pretty strong statement. There may have been some contact but no different than what went on all game. We will never know if that call would have changed the game or not.
kings102876
Dear lord he was not hammered. I Cannot believe the rest of this thread is going to be about a so called foul that wasn't called and not about the great game that was played. Both teams left it on the court and the refs let them play. Congrats to the Mustangs on a great season and good luck to the Camels in the final. I assure you that all of the assistant coaches have taken responsibility for the timeout as well as coach code. Credit the camels for their ability to fight back and take the lead when it mattered. The stangs have struggled to hang onto leads this year and for the better part of the night, we had a lead above 7 or at 7. Could not close the deal.
