Porky
I think step numero uno is scheduling. Get Boone, Ryle, Dixie and CovCath back on that schedule. Playing Deming, Augusta, Bracken and Beechwood is not going to work. I wasn't impressed when I took a peek at the schedule this year. This needs to be addressed. Nothing against Deming, Augusta, Bracken or Beechwood - its just that Brossart always has scheduled the bigger schools and it used to be anyone, anywhere at anytime. I just don't want to see them get away from that. Not sure about the others but I believe they have to play Beechwood now because they are in the same conference. ColdHard
Having the benefit of no affiliation and no dog in the fight, and more importantly having seen the game a day later on film sitting in the quiet of my living room i feel qualified to wiegh in from a nutural standpoint. The refs let these teams play for the most part. It was a physical game and that was to BB's benefit as the much bigger team. Yes there were more fouls called on them and they earned them. The block at the end may have had some contact but it is not discernable on film. CC coach knew BB was out of timeouts and went nuts on the bech before the ref even signaled. Not certain but it looks like the ref might have tried to wave BB coach off as he was trying to call the TO. CC won the game because of excellent D and shutting down the big kid from BB. Mustang
OK, would you agree with me on this - Brossart should not be playing the previously mentioned teams after the 10th Region All "A"? Brossart has accepted an invite to play in the 2012 Republic Bank Classic (the old 5th/3rd Classic) hosted by Lexington Catholic High School over the Christmas holidays coming up. We are also working to get Covington Catholic back on our schedule. Bracken, Augusta, Deming are residue of our being down some the last couple of seasons, and as TAC said some are two-year contracts. We have nothing in common with Ryle, Conner, Cooper etc. I'd like (personally) to maybe see Simon Kenton added since we (as the crow flies) are in close proximity, and are good friends with Coach Steiner. The games that we probably needed to play this season in hindsight were Clark and Montgomery County. Perhaps we could find another school who would do a Friday night/Saturday night trip to Mount Sterling and Winchester. Clark asked out when they were beginning to get strong and were playing a lot of tournaments. We used to play Montgomery occasionally in the old MCIT (Mason County Invitational Tournament) which is now defunct.
