A suggestion if I may, let's take the "what is and what isn't a top flight player" to a new thread and leave this one for Goose.

I thought he was getting D1 offers?

Hey, how about a "congratulations for playing at the next level'? D1 is not the "end all, be all". I don't want to be critcal but you seemed disappointed when Vocke went to Georgetown and not a larger classification. The kids themselves know what feels right and what a good fit is. You can get a great education at a small school and play a sport that you love.

From talking to him and his family, he's very happy with his decision and so is his family. Even if Goose was 6'4'' with a 40'' vertical and 4.5 speed, who knows what he's decision would have been. He had walk on oppertunities at some D1 schools, most of the NAIA scchools in Ky had offered, and many DII and DIII schols were interested also. Many times walk on"s either don't get much playing time or even much of an oppertunity, and give up after one year and end up coming home or transfering. It appears that Goose is going to continue his education after Thomas More. We in the Dixie community are proud and happy for him and his decision, as we are of all the seniors in NKY this past season who have the chance to continue playing football at the next level AND continuing their education, no matter what college they chose. Good luck Goose!

Congratulations to Goose and continued success! Thomas More has been ranked as a top 25 DIII school for the past three years. Playing for Coach Hilvert would be an honor for any player from northern Kentucky. Enjoy your college career.

Congrats on going further with your FB aspirations! TMC is getting a FINE player and Goose has the opportunity to achieve a FINE education. WIN-WIN!!

Looking forward to seeing him play at TMC! Congrats to Tyler and his family!

It seems from reading a few post on this site, a person can't ask a question or make a comment that isn't POSITIVE without being criticized here for what ever reason. Generally, if you hear an athlete is getting D1 offers and they end up choosing a D111 school, most people probably wants to know why that happened. It's not a knock on the kid, being able to continue your dream is great. I congratulate the kid!!

Congrats to Goose! Don't know the young man, but I do know his Dad, and I'm sure he has made his parents very happy in this decision also. VERY good school and good football fit. Best of luck at the next level young man!

I wish him best of luck!

Never said it was a knock on the kid. A congrats followed by the D1 question would have come across better, but that's only my opinion. You have a different opinion which is fine and makes sense.

Congratulations Goose and to all the Cohorn family. Great school, great education, great choice!

Congrats to Goose. He has great hands and is a strong kid. Best of luck at TMC.

Congrats to Goose!

Goose had a TD reception yesterday for TMC in their 27-0 win.

If you listen to the gossip, there were 300 kids in Kentucky with D1 offers but when it is done there might be 30 kids who actually have a D1 scholarship.

Bam, bullet to the red dot.
