Prior to the start of the 2006 season, there were those who said the O-line at CovCath was going to be their down fall but up steps the next man and sure enough at the end of that season they were considered one of the best O-lines around! Oh and they won a state title that year, with that so called weak offense line that so many were worried about prior to the start of the season. Not to worry CovCath fans, the CovCath O-line will be just fine in 2012!

Conner should have a very good line next season. They have everyone back besides the center position. Jared Kunkle--6'3 250 Sr. Austin Brake--6'1 245 Sr. Darrien Wolnitzek--6'2 265 Sr. Ty Robinson--6'2 260 Sr. The center position is wide open as of now.

Some posters hibernate in the winter months, but you "my friend" may have just poked a sleeping bear in a spot where he don't like being poked. :popcorn:

For those looking for a possible D1 prospect for next year, Kunkle's dad was a starting offensive lineman at UK, was named UK's top offensive lineman one year, made All SEC team along with teammate Dermonti Dawson and I think went to a pro training camp (Raiders?). Good genetics there and we have seen that with some N. Ky. players over the past few years.

You are correct. Conner's veteran line will have that team poised for a great season. Lots of starters returning from last year's quarterfinals team. Big season on the horizon.

I know that Ryle has Brad Webber (6' 3", 280) returning as well as Lex Sowards (6' 1" 260) and Tyler Morgan ( 6' 2" 230). Ryle has several O-Linemen coming back that were starters last year. Travis Pavy ( 6' 1" 220) and Dylan Plvan (5' 11" 225) are also two that may be playing tight end. The seniors for the 2012 team, are the same team that went undeafeted as Freshmen.

Ryle had a mauler at left tackle that played freshmen ball last year, probably not ready for varsity this year, but look out in the future, sorry I dont know the young man's name, but in the two games I saw he dominated his opponent.

Walton returns 5 offensive linemen from last years squad. They will be anchored by 6'6 310 lbs. tackle Cole

Mosier. David Carr, Jon Perdue and Ben Whelan average near 230 to 250 lbs. and all return as starters from last year. There are also several spot starters from last year that will contend for positions on the line. This will be a strong unit.:thumb:

Having watched you play, it's fortunate for Mitch that he gets his football talent from his mother's family; not the Dee family. J/K (well sort of)

 

On a serious note, I expect the Birds to have a very, very good O line this year. Lots of returning experience and talent. They'll have decent size but very good quickness and mobility.
