Picked up an endorsement from Gov Perry and his ex-wife says in an interview he wanted an "open marriage."

Rick Perry will be putting his support behind Newt Gingrich according to CNN.

 

So now all Newt needs is Bachmann and he's got the trifecta of crazy (Bachmann, Perry, & Palin). Yeah that's the guy we should put up against Obama. :lol:

 

As Yogi once said, it will be deja vu all over again. Big mistake if the GOP nominates Gingrich. No chance in November, same as McCain in 2008. Romney is the only hope imo.

While I'm not defending Gingrich it doesn't seem to be that long ago that the left had no problems with an inter "dating", cigar "smoking", multiple accused philanderer who redefined sex for a generation running the country.

And FWIW while I believe with all my heart that any of the remaining candidates will be a better option then Obama I think Romney has a better chance of winning. Since we in Kentucky will have no say in selecting a candidate all I can do is say I will vote for whoever the Republican nominee is with no regrets at all.

The point is that Gingrich was one of the "moral crusaders" leading the charge against said philanderer. At best, that makes him a hypocrite, and he's being called out for it as such.

A politician being a hypocrit is no longer news. It hasn't been since I can remember. That's not to say people still won't have fun pointing it out, only that it no longer seems to matter.

I was discussing with a friend of mine who shares my opinion that the GOP isn't going to dethrone Obama in 2012, regardless of who the nominee is. We both think Romney has the greater appeal in the General Election, but he isn't going to win either.

 

Which is why, if I had my druthers, I want Newt. Solely for the debates. If Obama's going to win, at least let me be entertained while he wins.

By the time of the convention we should know if Obama can be beat. If unemployment is still around 8.5%, Romney can do it. If it's come down, Obama is in and your idea would result in a lot of fun.

Just my personal opinion, but cheating on one's spouse makes you pretty much scum. I could never respect (or support) a person who does so. (Athletes are excluded for the most part as most of the women they marry are gold-diggers anyways )

So if it was your decision would Jefferson have been POTUS? I'm wondering how you could not support the author of the Declaration of Independence. The magnitute of intelligence is almost unfathomable and yet you yield your support due to personal choices (which was obviously the wrong choice). This is a perfect example that everyone makes bad decisions yet they can still be great leaders.
