If the first two primary states are any indication, Republicans haven't turned out like they did in '08. Maybe that's due to the dynamics of this primary, but you would think if they are fired up for any candidate, especially those they think could beat Obama, they would go out and support them now.

That is encouraging for Romney. The independents will factor in the general election big time. Last Gallup poll I saw he led Obama with them.

No, but New Hampshire is an extremely independent state and there wasn't a competitive Democratic primary this year, so a lot more independents are going to be showing up to vote for the GOP race. It's hard to say how many of them were excited about the candidates versus how many just wanted a say in the absence of another primary.

Also, due to NH's semi-open primaries many, many more people are registered (I) there than nationwide.

Didn't get to catch it, but I've heard and read that Ron Paul was booed rather loudly at the debate last night....Seems the southern conservatives aren't too keen on his stance on war and the military.

I watched the debate last night. He was booed during part of his lecture but also received the most votes for best performance of the night from 'Twitter'. He received the best ratings for foreign policy as well. (

 

When everyone else in the field disagrees with your views, you have to be clear, bold, and extremely factual to win an arguement and support such as the above.
