Oh, show me where I picked verses I liked and don't like? There are verses that are hard when say a person who is gay and wants to go the heaven and will not be allowed to with out repenting. So a gay person might not want to believe in that, so they will Pick and choose the ones to avoid. Most Sinners will do that, over eating/drinking/cheating on the spouses/not praying/going to worship every sunday/ etc. They want to be OK with the verses that fits them.

IMO a person is not born gay, they choose the lifestyle. And it is against the Bible.

 

Then the belief is if people feel gays are born that way, then they must not believe in God, because why else would God create a gay person knowing it is a sin. Unles God wants to see if the person can change and become ungay.

 

I have friends/family who are gay, only difference in us is lifestyle. But I still believe it is a sin and that the person must change before they can be saved. But that is my opinion.

This is where I fall. I believe that whatever creates sexual attraction in our bodies, that hormone, has mutated or is misinterpeted in the mind of a gay person. I'm sure that there are those who choose it, but I would think that the vast majority are born gay.

I did a huge study on this topic and still have my notes, be glad to share it and its kinda long, but here is an example

 

Some Churches do not want Musical Instruments in Worship, so they choses to avoid Psalms 149/150/Ephesians 5:19

 

Another one, Baptism, some say this saves your sins, so they avoid Acts 2:38/10:43/Acts 22:16. But I'd pick those to say that the sins are saved by Jesus so I'd pick Matthew 1:21.

 

In Acts 20:7 Paul has a supper some would pick this for out LORD's Supper, I'd pick it because Paul preaches too long and a guy falls out the window and dies. Paul brings him back to life. So I'd chose this one for the work of Paul.

 

Again, folks pick the scripture to defend their argument and chose to avoid others they don't like.

I agree, but I'm saying I have a difficult time believing that God would create someone who's entire life was a sin. Hence, I don't know if I feel being homosexual is a sin or not. It's a tough one for me.

I am not arguing your point about whether or not being gay is inherent or not, but I will argue what you say in the first sentence with this:

Attention.

 

Obviously, our bodies are biologically made for a man to be with a woman. So I would have to say it's a defect. I'm stuck on the issue in regards to "choosing to be gay or born to be gay." I think there are plenty of cases involving both.

 

That being said, if you have faith in the Bible, it would be wrong. But God doesn't judge you by your actions, He judges you by your intentions. That's why you shouldn't determine if a homosexual is going to hell for their actions, they could have been born like that. Hopefully someone is following me.

You said I "picked and Chose" I wrote out the verse you stated and asked for the reason you said I picked these and why I avoided them. I said I hadn't picked and chose any verse (yet).

One thing I find funny about these discussions is that whenever we have these kind of threads pop up it's the "hardcore Christians" that are the first to jump in quickly with judgement. Isn't that something that is only reserved for God? :idunno:
