That was not an analogy. Just an observation. I have seen younger people who have no idea what it means to be gay exhibit many characteristics not normally associated with heterosexuals. Does not mean they all are gay, just what I have non-scientifically observed.

What are these characteristics?

Considering there doesn't seem to be proof that there are genetic markers that seem to be inherent to homosexuals, I have to believe that homosexuality isn't innate. However, I heard it explained to me by a physician who works with genetic/congenital defects in children like this: I think we all have affinity for certain things. For instance, since as far as I can recall, I've loved chocolate. I've never had anyone tell me I should like chocolate, you can't find it in my genetic code that I like chocolate, yet I like chocolate. Do I make the choice to eat chocolate? Sure. And my opinion of homosexual tendency is the same. It can't be something born within the species genetically or that species would become extinct. However, the term born that way can't be totally disregarded, because that term refers to the certain affinity for something. If it weren't so, there wouldn't be those who are bisexual.

 

Not sure if that even fits in this argument, but it made sense to me by a guy who is far more intelligent than I will ever be about the genetic aspect.

Displays of masculinity or femininity that people often associate with the opposite sex. Does not mean all are gay that show signs of some or the other traits; but the point being that even from a young age not all of us guys like dirt, eat red meat, and enjoy big breasts (I do for all three, but I digress) or that all girls love makeup, play with dolls, and like to nag (that part added for effect and probably out of bounds ).

I don't think it is necessarily. I recently watched an excellent documentary produced by a liberal Christian group that discussed homosexuality and "supposed" references to it in the Old Testament. I'm not going to go into detail in this thread, but the documentary discussed problems concerning how the Bible has gone through so many translations over the ages that much of the original meaning has radically changed over the years due to translation issues etc. The documentary is called "Because the Bible Tells Me So" or something close to that.
