Obviously, our bodies are biologically made for a man to be with a woman. So I would have to say it's a defect. I'm stuck on the issue in regards to "choosing to be gay or born to be gay." I think there are plenty of cases involving both.

 

That being said, if you have faith in the Bible, it would be wrong. But God doesn't judge you by your actions, He judges you by your intentions. That's why you shouldn't determine if a homosexual is going to hell for their actions, they could have been born like that. Hopefully someone is following me.

I understand what you're saying. Here's the way I see it:

 

Being a homosexual isn't a sin. A man lusting after a man is a sin, in the same way that a man lusting after a woman is. Homosexual intercourse is a sin in the same way that pre-marital sex is a sin.

Gay people do not constantly think about other men and have homosexual intercourse. Their entire life is not a sin, however they do sin their entire lives. We all do though. There is no reason to make a distinction between the two. A gay man sins no more than I do, just in different ways.

I just have a hard time believing people choose to be gay. Given the social stigma it brings and hardships a lot of gays endure, WHY on Earth would anyone WANT that lifestyle?

 

I would also contend that you can tell early on in many people's lives if they are gay. There are some that exhibit characteristics a heterosexual child would not normally exhibit early on in life. This being well before today's media driven society.

I never hear pols campaigining against premarital sex. I just hear homosexuality. Why do we distinguish between the two?

God didn't destroy cites due to David taking Bathseeba an another's mans wife. But he did take their son. It was a Sin.

Yes. That premise makes the most sense to me concerning homosexuality.

I have always believed people are born gay.

One thing I find funny about these discussions is that whenever we have these kind of threads pop up it's the "hardcore Christians" that are the first to jump in quickly with judgement. Isn't that something that is only reserved for God? :idunno:

 

Clyde absolutely nailed it in his first post. A homosexual sinning is no different than you or I sinning. It's done on a daily basis.

No. My point was don't pre-determine where a homosexual will spend eternity. I am saying it's a sin to act upon it for the wrong reasons. Much like BleedBlue stated (lust), only I think some homosexuals choose to be gay as a reaction from past/current events in their life, or attention.

I don't think being "Gay" is wrong per say I think acting on the thoughts and desires is what's wrong. You can be attracted to the same sex and not act on it.

If a man is gay, and is sitting at work in a meeting crunching numbers, in your eyes, he's sinning. How is that possible?
