You disagree that he would want to play for the Lakers? Noted. Not a lot of stars turn down a chance to play for the Lakers. Once they get there not a lot of them leave on their own.
December 10, 201114 yr Hasn't Howard wanted to go to NJ for some time now? Nothing Stern can do about that trade, the league doesn't own either team. He can still veto the trade.
December 10, 201114 yr They are now trying to rework the deal. Who has to do what to make it work? I think the Lakers were the biggest losers in the trade, but by no means was it unfair. There's really no better solution

His reasoning for the denial is comical since Paul is going to walk regardless, leaving New Orleans with absolutely nothing in return. I think it would be a horrible deal for the Lakers to begin with.
December 10, 201114 yr I don't think it would be a horrible deal for LA if Bynum stays healthy. Bynum is good for dunks and CP3 is good at getting centers to dunk(see Tyson Chandler). I do understand why people think it would be a bad deal for LA and this Laker fan would rather have Howard but adding CP3 to Kobe and Bynum is still a very good foundation. Seriously...Westbrook/Durant...CP3/Kobe...or Dirk/Kidd.......now add Harden, then Bynum and then....wait...no Chandler, no Butler...who is Dallas' #3 guy? Get the picture?

What makes you think Bynum will suddenly become more healthy as he gets older? He's played 6 seasons and only once has he managed to play a full season. Also, his career high is 30 minutes per game. I think they are taking a huge risk if they give up Odom and Gasol and do not end up with Howard.

Stern is making the biggest mistake ever by being the GM here. It's the most absurd thing a major league has done in decades.

December 10, 201114 yr Don't most of the issues the other owners have deal with the Lakers getting below the luxury tax threshold or at least lowering their luxury tax number? In the new CBA teams who pay the tax are basically paying this money to the small market teams considering that's the intended plan for all the luxury tax teams. If this deal can keep the Lakers close to their luxury task number there shouldn't be any more crying from Gilbert or any of the other owners.
