Scott just does not have a big enough team. Scott will have around 12 Seniors. SK will have around 25 Seniors and over 30 Juniors.

 

All this time I thought it had to do with talent. I guess that is why trinity is so good. I think they have and 40 SR.s so that has to mean they are the best in the nation! Come on man! Having a big pool to choose from most certainly helps but when they aren't very talented or well coached; ie. SK, then it doesn't matter. Coach Campbell is a great person. I question their play calling but have to agree that until they prove it on the field then its all talk like UK #1 fan

No Sowder kid to run the ball like they have the last 3 yrs. very boring on offense. This yr. was Sowder right, Sowder left, sprinkle jet sweep in with Castleman (so). The sophmore group is very athletic, fast, great kids, but they are very suspect upfront. their center is very good and the rest are below average. SK will be much improved. If SK could get an offensive coordinator they would be the team to beat in 6A in NKY next year.

It would be great if it happened.

This years freshman class struggled, but mainly because they lacked skill players. That class will add depth up front on both the offensive and defensive line, which is where Scott will need the most help. People keep harping about the sophomore classes success against only the small school division last year.....remember Beechwood and NewCath are in that small school division...those programs have had quite a bit of success against the big schools over the past few years. I look for them to be at or slightly above .500 next year ( which they would have been this year in the regular season had Bellevue not dropped them from their schedule 2 weeks before the season started), and possibly compete for a district title the following year. As far as being the best team in Kenton County, this year they could have competed with SK, and probably would have lost to Dixie. Next year things would likely be the same.

 

They are still a few years from being considered a good program, but they won't be doormats anymore.

Ryle only had ten seniors if you don't include kickers this season. That didn't stop them from beating SK.

Hard to say that they are a "program on the rise." If they would have played the 6A schedule, their win total would have been much less. Their win totals aren't that different from the previous years either, so it doesn't show imporvement (maybe consistency). They will have to actually play Dixie and SK to prove they are better.

Until Kenton County stops the open enrollment across the county Scott will struggle to compete unless Coach Campbell can pursuade the youth players to stay at Scott. The new facilities will help him encourage the kids to stay put. They still have a long way to go.

Plus they have a feeder program now that did very well in the NKYFL it's first year..

A decent amountof kids who played Raiders went to Scott, so I don't know how much that will help.

Neerfan there are more that end up going to SK than you probably realize. I would say its an even split between the number of kids that land in Dixie or SK.

"Dave Campbell is not only a great coach, he is a great man. I wouldn't blame any school for going after him but I don't think he would take the Dixie job. In the past, you would be right, a huge step up in talent but I don't think that will be the case in the future. Watch over the next couple of years what Coach Campbell had built at Scott. I think Scott could very well be the best football team in the Kenton County School District as soon as next season."

But you said they would be best and they very well may be worst in the Kenton school district, and one year later.
